𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱: 𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 🎨✏️

On 18 August, our P1–P6 students enjoyed an inspiring art assembly programme by Kamal Arts, featuring professional caricaturist 𝙆𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙝!

Through an engaging live demonstration, students discovered the creativity, observation and drawing process behind caricature art—and why the process of creating by hand remains so important in an increasingly AI-reliant world. Watching a caricature come to life on stage left many students amazed and in awe!

The inspiration continued in the classrooms, where our teachers joined the students in creating their own caricature artworks. The response was fantastic, with lots of enthusiasm, laughter and creativity all around.

Beyond art, the programme also encouraged students to develop 21st Century Competencies, such as creative and critical thinking, communication, collaboration and confidence in expressing their ideas. Students were reminded that while AI can support our work, the ability to observe, imagine, create and think independently remains uniquely human.

It was truly a meaningful and memorable experience that reminded our students that the journey of creation is just as important as the final artwork. 🌟

What a memorable way to commemorate National Day! Our talented Percussion Ensemble students put up a splendid performance at the Bukit Gombak National Day Observance Ceremony on 9 August, celebrating Singapore’s 61st birthday with the Bukit Gombak residents, invited guests and Guest of Honour, Ms Low Yen Ling.

Our students delighted the audience with a lively selection of familiar classics, including What Makes You Beautiful, Singapore Town, and a Malay Folk Song Medley featuring Chan Mali Chan and Rasa Sayang. Through their performance, they showcased not only their musical talents, but also the teamwork, dedication and resilience they demonstrated throughout their preparation.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Percussion Ensemble teachers-in-charge and instructor, Ms Angeline Wee, for their guidance and support in preparing them for this special occasion.
In recognition of Lianhua Primary School’s collaboration and contribution to the event, our Principal, Ms Kiew, received a Certificate of Appreciation from Ms Low Yen Ling.

Our students were thrilled to perform for the audience, sharing their talents and passion while bringing joy to the community through music. We are proud of their enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to their percussion performance. ❤️

Our talented Modern Dance students took centre stage at the Ministry of Transport (MOT) Family National Day Observance Ceremony (NDOC) 2026 on 7 August 2026 at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) Punggol Campus.

Inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller, their performance, “Rise Beyond,” was a dynamic celebration of courage, resilience and the spirit of going beyond our limits. Through powerful movements, teamwork and resilience, our young dancers showed that growth begins when we dare to step beyond our comfort zones and support one another. 💪✨

Reflecting the National Day spirit of “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond,” the performance celebrates Singapore’s journey of dreaming bigger, striving further and moving forward together with confidence, resilience and unity.

Our students enjoyed the opportunity to perform for the audience, showcasing their talents and passion while contributing to the community through the arts. We are proud of their enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to inspiring and bringing joy to others through dance. ❤️

🎮 𝙇𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙇 𝙐𝙋! 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 🎮

This year’s Cyber Wellness Carnival focused on the theme of ‘Responsible Gaming’. Our students learnt about making safe choices and developing healthy gaming habits through interactive online stations and fun carnival games, like magnetic fishing and tic-tac-toe.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗮, 𝗚𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱!

On 7 August 2026, the Lianhua Primary School family came together to celebrate Singapore’s 61st National Day in a morning filled with energy, reflection and togetherness!

The celebrations kicked off with the GetActive! Singapore Workout 2026: Dance of the Nation, where students and staff moved to the beat and celebrated our nation through movement and joy.

Our National Day Observance Ceremony, led by our Scouts, set a meaningful and reflective tone for the day. During the school engagement segment, Mr Vincent Low shared an inspiring message on the National Pledge, encouraging our students to “go beyond” by caring for others, contributing to our community and making a positive difference.

Students were also treated to a captivating theatrical musical performance by the Aaxon Wind Quintet, taking us through Singapore’s journey from our beginnings to the resilient and united nation we are today. The celebration concluded on a high note with Mrs Esther Foong-Tan and Mr Elvin Foong, whose soulful performances of We Will Get There and The Road Ahead left everyone feeling hopeful and inspired.

As we celebrate SG61, let us continue to cherish our shared values, honour our past and look ahead with courage, compassion and determination. 𝙈𝒂𝙟𝒖𝙡𝒂𝙝 𝙎𝒊𝙣𝒈𝙖𝒑𝙪𝒓𝙖, 𝑮𝙤 𝘽𝒆𝙮𝒐𝙣𝒅!

Our students, teachers, parents, alumni and School Advisory Committee members each took a small part of our National Pledge and together, completed it as one.

This is what “one united people” really looks like.

Each of us different but unique. Each of us playing our part. Each voice important. And when we come together, we become something greater than any one of us.

This National Day, a simple reminder of what holds us together — across generations, roles and backgrounds.

𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿! 🇸🇬📚

The library has been buzzing with exciting literacy activities as students celebrated reading and Singapore's stories from the start of the term. On 28 July, students enjoyed an inspiring 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗵, gaining insights into the writing process and discovering the joy of storytelling.

In support of 𝗡𝗟𝗕'𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 campaign, students also participated in 𝟭𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 during their 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 library periods. A Book Picnic was organised in the library during recess, where students relaxed and enjoyed our newly catalogued books. Curated book displays at the 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗯 and 𝗘𝟮𝟭𝗖𝗖 𝗛𝘂𝗯 further encouraged students to discover new reads.

Students were also introduced to the 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 – 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 organised by CIVICA, through pre-assembly talks and displays of books by local authors. These activities encouraged them to appreciate Singapore's rich literary heritage while expressing their creativity through book cover design.

We invite parents to explore books by local authors with your child this Singapore month and encourage them to participate in the 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 – 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝟭𝟲 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁. Happy reading, and we look forward to seeing our students' creative entries!
