What started as a side job in his army days is now spun into a career built upon passion. He worked as a writer in the creative industry and was also a managerial professional in the Communications field. However, he returns full-time now to teaching
- a career that he is growing to love! Well versed in both English and Chinese, he seeks to inculcate a joy in learning the languages. Apart from teaching the school syllabus, he enjoys working especially with young children, whom he has the ability to connect and engage. He taught at an international school and am familiar with both MOE and international syllabus. While at the school, he taught mainly foreign students in Chinese, Higher Chinese, Humanities (History and Geography), and ESL (English as a Second Language). His student base includes those from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Australia, Canada, Korea, and so on. His teaching philosophy is simple: If there is no fun involved, there is no point learning it! He is musically trained with a Piano ABRSM in Grade 7 certification, and had experiences in drama acting in local productions on screen. With that, he infuses music, speech and drama, and games into his lessons whenever working with younger children. And the results were almost magical each time. With a stronger focus in teaching Chinese, he is able to teach from pre-school, kindergarten, Primary, to Secondary O levels, as well as adults who are interested to learn the Mandarin way of communication.
