I believe every student is different and unique in their own way. Once in a while, I meet students who are really interesting and are able to keep up with my game. 🤭🤭🤭 This is when I know that it's only right to go beyond what's in the textbooks and coach them in other areas of the language - including performing Arts like acting and singing, while still actively using the Chinese language as a medium. Meet Theodore, my P3 student who inspires me to go further as well with his talents. He has a video going viral on my TikTok right now with more than 250k views. 💯✨👀😊

One of my all-time favourite children's songs in Chinese has a latest version, and it has a family-fuzzy feel to it. Teaching Chinese through songs has always been on on my curriculum for years, and the kids love it! There's this magical connection that the world of music and language can make, and you just have to experience it for yourself! ✨🎶🎵

So since PSLE oral is just next week, I had this idea for a while in my head, but didn't write anything down. Today the P5s came for class, and I asked if they wanted to do it, and they were so game! Everything was done on the spot under my guidance and direction. 一气呵成 in one class. 🤭

Created a simple yet fun game for the boys. This should be useful in getting the kiddos to practise ordering food from a stall! Tip: Keep a list of related food vocab from different stalls you can think of, e.g. Nasi Lemak 椰浆饭、Roti Prata 印度煎饼、Fishball noodles 鱼丸面、Economic Rice 杂菜饭 etc. Remember to vary the food items, and add more variety to the vocab, including ingredients, condiments etc. Feel free to tag me should you try this with the kids! 🍴🥳
