上个星期，学生们通过周会了解到，原来身边竟有如此了不起的昆虫——它们能够运用"生物智能"分解厨余垃圾，将废料转化为富含营养的堆肥。正所谓"勿以善小而不为"——我们的小小环保勇士们深刻体会到，巨大的改变，往往从微小之处开始。

孩子们已经迈出了第一步——家长们，让我们在家中与他们并肩同行，一起回收厨余，共同守护我们的地球！✨

Our students discovered a tiny superhero with a massive mission! After an inspiring morning assembly talk, the Green Hub buzzed with excitement during recess as students got up close and personal with the incredible Black Soldier Fly.

These mighty insects use "Biological Intelligence" to devour food waste, turning scraps into nutrient-rich compost. Our young eco-warriors are learning that big changes start small. Let’s back our heroes at home by recycling food waste and working toward a Zero Waste Singapore!✨

在周一的弥撒中，我们再次深刻体会到慷慨分享与常怀感恩之心的重要。我们也特别为即将参加小六会考的学生们祈祷，愿他们在考试中发挥所长。

During Monday’s Examination Mass, Father Fred reminded us to share generously and give thanks for the people and blessings God places in our lives.

We also prayed for our graduating Primary 6 students and all students preparing for their upcoming examinations.

国庆日快乐！

今天，我们全体师生庭齐聚一堂，共同庆祝国庆日。这是一个意义深远的时刻，让我们回顾国家走过的历程，感恩我们所拥有的一切。

当同学们满怀自豪地放声歌唱、互相加油打气，我们再次深刻体会到——国家最大的力量，始终来自于人民。

礼堂的庆祝活动包括了我们圣婴红狮队，还有我们快板书的学生带来精彩的表演，让大家对我们新加坡的本土文化有更深的了解。除了在礼堂的庆祝活动，我们也举办了低年级的运动会。高年级学生也在课室里进行有趣的游戏。这些游戏都学生自己设计的，内容都和我们这个美丽的岛国有关，格外有意义。大家携手同心，凝聚为一个大家庭，一个团结一致的圣婴大家庭。

在我们缅怀过去、迎向未来之际，愿我们继续珍视那些将我们紧紧相连的共同价值观，彼此激励，共同为社会带来积极正面的改变。

Happy National Day!

Today, the Holy Innocents' Primary School family came together to celebrate Singapore's 61st National Day — a special occasion to reflect on our nation's journey and all that we have to be thankful for.

As our students sang with pride, cheered for one another, and celebrated the stories that have shaped Singapore, we were reminded that our nation's greatest strength has always been its people.

The celebration in the hall featured our Holy Innocents' Red Lion troupe as well as a Kuaiban performance, treating everyone to a wonderful showcase and deepening our appreciation of Singapore's local culture. Beyond the hall celebrations, we also organised a sports carnival for our lower-primary students. Meanwhile, our upper-primary students also took part in fun games in their classrooms. These games were designed by the students themselves, with themes closely tied to our beautiful island nation, making them even more meaningful.

Today, we stood together as one community, one united HIPS family.

As we celebrate our past and embracing our future, may we continue to cherish the values that bring us together and inspire one another to make a positive difference.

上周，我校五年级学生身穿红衣，怀着满腔热忱与期待，齐聚国家体育场，与数千名新加坡人共同欢庆国庆，感受那份浓厚而真挚的爱国情怀！

台上精彩动人的表演、耳熟能详的国庆歌曲、震撼人心的视觉展示，让学生们深切感受到身为新加坡人的喜悦与荣耀，也更深刻地体会到团结一心、携手共建美好家园的重要意义。

这不仅是一场令人难忘的庆典，更是一趟意义深远的学习之旅。学生们深刻明白，新加坡的故事由一代又一代的新加坡人共同书写、共同传承下去。我们衷心希望这次珍贵的经历，能进一步加深学生对国家的热爱与归属感，并激励他们在成长的道路上，尽己所能，共同建设一个充满关怀、坚韧不拔、团结一致的新加坡。

A day to remember for our Primary 5 students at this year’s National Education (NE) Show!

Dressed in red and filled with excitement, our students joined thousands of Singaporeans at the National Stadium to celebrate our nation’s journey and future. Through the inspiring performances, familiar National Day songs, spectacular displays, and shared moments of pride, they experienced the true spirit of being Singaporean.

Beyond the celebrations, the NE Show reminded our students that Singapore’s story is one that every generation helps to write. We hope this meaningful experience has deepened their love for our nation and inspired them to play their part in building a caring, resilient, and united Singapore.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers and supportive parents for making this memorable learning journey possible.

Today, we celebrate the 4th year of our meaningful partnership with Jing Shan Primary School since 2023.

Through the art of ceramics, students from both schools create, connect, and grow together—building friendships, encouraging one another, and discovering the joy of learning as one community.

特别感谢我们五年级的哥哥姐姐们耐心地一步一步指导低年级同学，帮助他们掌握回收物品的关键步骤。每位带来符合条件的塑料瓶或金属容器的学生，都获得了一份特别的小礼品！

我们也要感谢各位家长的大力支持，让孩子们参与这个有意义的活动。

♻️ Mission Accomplished: HIPS Greenie in Action!

Our P1 and P2 students successfully completed their "Return Right" mission on 24 and 28 July! We are so proud of our young superheroes for learning how to return used drink containers properly so they can be accepted by Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and recycled efficiently.

A big shoutout to our P5 Science Monitors, who served as amazing recycling ambassadors! They guided their younger peers every step of the way, helping them expertly follow the key recycling steps:
1. Checked the Label: They identified the official BCRS Deposit Mark.
2. Clean & Ready: Containers were empty, washed, and dry.
3. No Crushing: They kept bottles intact so the smart AI machines could scan the shape and barcode at a real RVM machine.

Each student who brought an eligible plastic bottle or metal received a special gift token! Thank you, parents, for supporting this early introduction to Singapore’s upcoming beverage container return scheme. Let’s keep building these green habits together! 🌍✨

星期一，全校师生齐聚一堂，以"多元共融，同心织锦"为主题，共同庆祝新加坡独特的多元文化。师生们穿着族传统服饰，而“校园时装秀”更成为活动的亮点。各班代表自信地走上"猫步"，展示不同文化的独特魅力。

课堂上，同学们通过情境讨论，学习如何以尊重、真诚的态度了解其他种族与文化，并勇于提出问题。课程也提醒大家即使无心之言也可能影响他人，发言时应时刻顾及他人的感受。

课间休息时，校园里洋溢着欢乐的节日气氛。"甘榜嘉年华"让全校学生体验传统游戏，并品尝来自不同文化的传统小吃。大家玩得不亦乐乎，尽情沉浸在充满童年回忆的传统游戏与美食之中。

今天的活动让我们再次感受到圣婴大家庭的凝聚力。多元文化，共融共存——愿我们每一位同学都能成为尊重他人、珍视多元文化的新加坡人。

On Monday, our school came together under the theme "Our People, Our Tapestry" to celebrate the rich diversity that makes Singapore so special. Students and staff donned their traditional attire, while our very own catwalk took centre stage as class representatives proudly showcased the beauty of our different cultures.

In the classroom, students explored what it means to engage with other races respectfully and curiously. Through scenario-based discussions. It was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on how we speak and listen — and to ask questions about other cultures with openness and genuine respect.

Recess was extra festive too, with our “Kampong Fiesta” bringing traditional games and snacks to the whole school. Students had a blast trying their hand at old-school favourites and sampling traditional treats from different cultures.

It was a wonderful reminder of what makes our HIPS community strong — unity in diversity, and a shared commitment to understanding one another. 🤝
