A Little Lock, A Big Shift
Today, something beautiful unfolded in my Primary 2 class.
One of my students didn’t want to do the second worksheet. When I gently asked him why, he said, “I don’t know.”
Instead of pushing forward, I invited him to pause and tune inwards.
We closed our eyes together and I guided him to connect with the part of him that didn’t feel like doing it. “Can you feel where that part lives in your body?” I asked softly. “Can you just let it be seen and heard—with kindness?”
After a quiet moment, he said, “There’s a lock in my belly.”
With simple presence and mindful prompting, he stayed with that image… until something shifted.
“It’s open now,” he whispered, eyes still closed.
I smiled and asked, “What does your body feel like doing now?”
Without hesitation, he said, “Give me the worksheet.”
✨ One of the other children looked at him wide-eyed and said, “She did magic to him!”
But really, it wasn’t magic from me—it was the magic within him. The magic of being seen, of feeling safe, of reconnecting with the body’s quiet wisdom.
This is why I do what I do.
When children learn to trust their inner world, the blocks begin to dissolve… and their natural readiness to learn and grow unfolds effortlessly.
