aLIVE – Learning Islamic Values Everyday

The aLIVE programme aims to develop a soleh child who is nurtured with taqwa and good akhlak, knowledgeable in Islam and practices what he learns. One that also shows care and concern towards others; his family, teachers and peers. PROGRAMME LEVELS

Our Mosque Madrasah provides the aLIVE programme for young Muslims aged 5-21 years old.
- Kids (5-8 ye

ars old)
- Tweens (9-12 years old)
- Teens (13-16 years old)
- Youth (17-21 years old)

Designed specifically to be appealing, developmentally-appropriate and relevant to kids, tweens, teens and youths, the aLIVE programmes aim to inspire students to continue Learning Islamic Values Everyday. CONTENT

The aLIVE programmes adopt a thematic approach to learning. Different themes appropriate to the different levels are being developed and delivered. The subjects on Aqidah and Fiqh are presented as “Faith & Practices”, Akhlaq as “Character & Life Skills”, Sirah and Tarikh as “Social & Civilisational Islam” while Iqra’ & Quran Reading under “Quranic Literacy”

Depending on the age, the programmes, the modules and topics, the four areas may be given different emphasis. For example, more emphasis are given on Quranic Literacy in the Kids & Tweens aLIVE programmes. CORE VALUES AND PRINCIPLES OF aLIVE

The aLIVE programmes seek to inculcate values, through modeling so children can see them being practiced. Teachers will also facilitate these values by providing opportunities for the children to personally engage in the moral process. This is the intuitive instructional model proposed by the Quran and followed by the earlier generations of Muslim scholars

TEACHERS

Our teachers are especially trained to deliver content effectively through activities and lectures that can connect the learning in class to the real lives of our students.Teachers are also qualified, many of which are graduates of established learning institutions such as Al-Azhar University and International Islamic University Malaysia. They are also required to attend regular training organised by Muis. ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed via a multiple assessment approach - encompassing different elements a child may experience both in and out of class thus reflecting his/her abilities and knowledge more accurately. Approaches include: organisation of materials, consideration of alternatives, quality of content and process, elaborated communication, connections to society and the world, audience, and beyond the classroom.

Let's join us to Gallop Stable this December! It will be an Experiential Learning Journey which the participants will get to experience riding the ponies, feeding & grooming them as well!

Participants too will be taught about Surah Al-Adiyat which related to ponies/horses and what are the takeways they can learn from it.

79 days to Ramadan

The second pillar of Islam after reciting the shahadah is performing Solat. It is through our prayers (solat) that we are able to establish a meaningful relationship with our creator, Allah Swt. Through Solat, we are able to show our gratitude towards Allah Swt as well understanding our responsibilities and priorities as muslim, as the believers.

Let’s try to improve on our solat one step at a time. performing it 5 times a day, on time, with the congregation. and may Allah swt bestow upon us Khusyu’ in our solat insyaAllah.

It is in one of the nights where The Prophet SAW was isolating himself in The Cave of Hira’ when The Archangel Jibril AS came to The Prophet SAW with the first revelation (Wahyu); the legacy of prophethood has begun.

Amazing that the first revelation talks about the command to read. Read Al-Quran. Learn. Seek knowledge. Strengthen the faith. And remember, that Allah SWT is the most generous. Subhanallah!

May Allah swt makes us people who’ll recite Al-Quran, internalize it and guide us with the guidance of Al-Quran.

Definition. Yup! we are kinda into that thing. Definition. It makes things clearer. Easy to understand and of course, makes it easier to explain to people (if they don’t understand)

So fasting basically means (in simpler version), is to not do the things that nullifies the fast (which later we will share in our upcoming posts on it) within the time frame given (which is from subuh till maghrib). yup that's about it!

So anything else is technically still acceptable for fasting, only that it affects the fasting in terms of quality or reward. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

The most important verse in regards to the obligatory fast in Ramadan is stated in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 183!

Interestingly there are a few main points to learn from this verse:
it begins with with the state of Iman and ends with the state of Taqwa
Fasting has been practised long before the ummah of Prophet Muhammad SAW
