"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." - Mother Teresa.
One of the most blessed thing we set ourselves to do before our respective reunion dinners on Chinese New Year Eve was to make an impromptu trip down to bright and cheery Chinatown and distribute mandarin oranges and ang baos containing dollar bills and Chinese New Year greetings to the elderly folks there. The experience was phenomenal. To see the joy on the elderly folks' faces, indescribable.
We were met with cheery elderly folks some of whom were extravagant in their blessing us as though we were their children. While we were there to bless, we had been so blessed by the elderly folks as well.
We would like to thank our friends who heard about what we were doing and provided extra finances for us to distribute more oranges and give more ang baos. In total we distributed 189 oranges, 86 ang baos and handwritten CNY greetings to close to 100 elderly folks.
From the both of us, thank you.
