Happy 2023 everyone! We hope you're all keeping well, and we look forward to seeing you all someday again (perhaps at Sociovation 2023!)
“A dream come true!” said Jodie of his participation in this year’s Sociovation Forum.
The 22-year-old student was one of 80 youth leaders from 10 ASEAN countries at this 10-day programme. Organised by Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and supported by Temasek Foundation, the Sociovation Forum 2022 is a social innovation programme that seeks to build changemakers that impact their home communities and beyond.
As an Indonesian studying in Thailand, Jodie is no stranger to cross-cultural learning but he still cited how Sociovation ‘gathered youth all over ASEAN with different backgrounds…and provided experts to share their knowledge through fun and light methods’ as a ‘huge difference’. With this year’s theme being ‘The Power of Social Media’, Jodie learned that tackling social media misuse requires individual action and society efforts.
“I’ll keep sharing what I gained from Sociovation to educate and create awareness about these issues. Because we all need to work hand in hand to ensure social media is good, and not rude.”
