“If you always uphold one another, you will be capable of working wonders!” Marymount Convent School’s (MCS) Foundress St Mary Euphrasia’s words ring true in the heart of every Parent Support Group (PSG) volunteer. Over the years, the PSG has warmly cultivated a culture of cooperation rooted in care for the individual – each child and each other. Today, in celebrating Foundress Day, the PSG reaffirmed St Mary Euphrasia’s values and mission – to actively love one another in every act of service.
It is in honour of our Mother Foundress’ legacy that the celebration began with thanksgiving mass presided by Father Kamil. Principal Ms Minnie Cheong opened the Commemoration Ceremony before handing the floor over to Guest of Honour, Sister Agnes-Claire Koh, who shared about her childhood and her life caring for marginalised women and children as a Good Shepherd Sister. Sister Koh is also the Resident Manager of the Good Shepherd Centre.
This year’s Foundress Day theme, Carried with Purpose, reminds us to always carry each other with empathy and tenderness. The PSG gratefully thanks our treasured parent volunteers for embodying MCS' core values in the work that they do. We also appreciate our school leadership, staff, and educators for allowing the PSG to take part in community building and contributing to the school spirit! Happy Foundress Day!

📚✨ Calling All Parent Volunteers! ✨📚
Looking for a meaningful and fun way to be part of your child’s school life? Come join us at the heart of Marymount Convent School — our much-loved library! 💛
For many of us, the library is where our PSG journey began… a warm, welcoming circle where friendships are formed and little moments turn into big memories.
As a Parent Volunteer, you’ll get to be part of exciting weekly programmes:
🎧 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 – the girls get to borrow an iPad and headset and explore the digital space in a safe and supervised environment.
🎲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 – with a wide selection of games at their disposal, the girls can have their pick and enjoy the cool aircon as they build camaraderie with friends and PVs.
𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨⚠️: 𝘓𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥!
📖 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 – where you can bring stories to life for the girls! A library initiative that goes beyond books as the girls and PVs form a bond during their interactions that go from sharing their interests and hobbies to their school life at MCS.
And that’s not all… the library is always transforming into something magical, thanks to the creativity of our wonderful librarian, Mdm Siti. 🌟
This term, the girls are stepping into the world of Roald Dahl — complete with a spectacular glass elevator inspired by Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator! 🚀 Made from recycled materials and filled with immersive sounds, it’s truly an experience not to be missed.
If you love books, enjoy bonding with children, or simply want to be part of this vibrant community, we’d love to have you join us!
💌 DM us on IG or via PSG Facebook to get started. Come be part of the story. 💫
Bravo to our quick change cast! 👑

“My, what big eyes you have!” The Big Bad Wolf found himself in a sudden role reversal as he surveyed his audience of kindergarteners. They were at Marymount for a primary school tour and were settling in the library to watch a show; beaming eyes full of wonder.
Parent volunteers (PVs) treated their little guests from Marymount Preschool and the Good Shepherd Preschool to a production of the perennial favourite The Second Princess. First up - royal “tutor” PVs attended to their charges as they decorated paper crowns with sparkly stickers. Properly bejewelled, their royal highnesses enjoyed an immersive show filled with character surprises around every corner, drawing participatory shouts and giggles.
Play was the next order of business for the visitors. The children counted their steps on jumbo Snakes and Ladders, aimed balls across a table in Bounce Off and performed silly actions for Happy Salmon among many other board and card games.
Having worked up an appetite (royal work is serious business), the preschoolers made their way to the canteen for a recess experience. With PVs in tow, they ordered and bought their snacks; their choices ranging from hearty to sweet.
The Parent Support Group would like to extend our appreciation to our volunteers who bravely matched the childrens’ energy this morning. Thank you for easing their transition from the familiarity of preschool into the magical world of primary!

Recess at Marymount Convent School(MCS) = lip-smacking food, unbridled joy… and the occasional “I need help! I can’t open this!” 😄💛
We’re on the lookout for Parent Volunteers(PVs) to join our Recess Duty crew—aka the friendly faces who:
✨ Rescue stubborn chip packets
✨ Tackle unwieldy lunchboxes
✨ Help keep queues moving smoothly- especially at the ever-popular Heavenly Delight and Galilee’s Fare
✨ Collect unclaimed water bottles and knick-knacks for the Lost & Found Corner
✨ And sprinkle a little kindness into every girl’s day
Having a warm, friendly presence in the canteen aids the school in ensuring recess is smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.
In addition to the Recess Duty at the canteen, once a month PVs join in the fun at the Kampung Corner at MCS by playing old school games like Congkak, Five Stones, card games such as Happy Family, Donkey and Old Maid and not forgetting trusty board games like Snakes & Ladders and Checkers.
It’s a small slice of your time, but it makes a big difference to our girls’ recess experience.
Come be part of the fun, the chatter, and the little moments that matter 🫶
We’d love to have you on board! To sign up for Recess Duty, reach out to us on Instagram/Facebook or contact your Class Representative.
