Visiting always brings back memories of my childhood in small-town India. Even the mosquitoes couldn't spoil the experience—thanks to Mei from GUI, who quickly came to the rescue by crushing Candle Bush leaves to soothe the bites—nature’s remedies at work!

🌍 Reflections of August - From Upcycling to Carbon Accounting: The Full Spectrum of Sustainability 🌍
This Mooncake season, as we marvel at the extravagant and beautiful packaging that houses these festive delights, it's essential to consider the unseen impact behind it. While everyone is competing for the most eye-catching designs, the colossal amount of resources used and waste generated by such packaging often goes unaccounted for.
That's why we're incredibly grateful to have collaborated with NECDC in their initiative to educate the community about boxes. Integrating this effort into the Heartbakers project was a rewarding experience. It wasn’t just about sustainability; it was about creative thinking, teamwork, and a lot of fun and laughter.
In addition to upcycling, this month also gave us the opportunity to delve deep into the world of . It was a fantastic learning experience, connecting with professionals in the field and exercising the left side of the brain— analytic thinking, precise calculations, and meticulous attention to detail.
As we look back at our photos from August, it’s clear that the upcycling project stole the spotlight! The vibrant images of Mooncake upcycling boxes are visually captivating, making them perfect for social media. The sheets, while not as photogenic – was equally rewarding; reminding us that the work behind the scenes is just as vital to sustainability, even if it doesn’t come with as many picture-perfect moments.
I am grateful to have experienced the full spectrum of Sustainability—from upcycling to carbon accounting—all within one month! 🌱

🌿 Reflections on Month of , that flew by with so many exciting activities and achievements! is always special to me for many reasons, one of them is as it's the midway mark of the year—a perfect time to reflect on the past six months with pride and look forward to the next six months with excitement.

Here are two highlights from this month that I would like to share:

for : Our and the activity of making their own compost bins were a huge hit! The enthusiasm and engagement from the students were incredible. We hope to bring the classroom learning on to the outdoors within the school premises.

Attending a Session on : Hosted by and , this session was an enriching experience. Hearing from in the field and gaining so much knowledge in just two hours was truly inspiring.

One key takeaway: As we strive towards in every aspect of work, play, and life, individual changes to consumption and personal contributions towards sustainability remain the cornerstone of making a real difference. 🌍✨

🌿 It was such a rewarding experience engaging with youth at our recent sustainability workshop!

Four years ago, in my living room, I sketched out the idea for on a piece of paper, driven by a mission to inspire young minds to embrace sustainability and explore Green Jobs. Today, I'm humbled by the incredible enthusiasm and creativity they bring to this journey.

During the workshop, they shared their creative solutions for the future with me, some of which truly inspired me and resonated with everyone. The feedback was heartwarming, with participants describing the session as 'fun & engaging,' appreciating our efforts to introduce interesting content and concepts that make learning about sustainability fun and realistic.

There's so much potential for the young minds to make a positive impact on our planet's future, and I wake up every day inspired by their 'green' journey. I'm grateful to have been a part of it. I would love to hear your stories, too.🌱

During the event, I had the pleasure of sharing my journey and experiences in sustainability education and consulting. Our conversations were vibrant and full of promise, and I am confident that we are nurturing the next generation of female leaders in STEM.

It was a pleasure meeting HuiQin from the Sustainability Team, who shared the incredible efforts by their team towards making a sustainable property while also highlighting the challenges they face.
