Over 3 days in May, some of our Sec 2 classes stepped into the heart of Penang’s rich culture and history, exploring the iconic Clan Jetties, Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Khoo Kongsi, and Penang History Gallery, and soaking in the vibrant Penang Street Art. They also experienced the morning buzz at the Chow Rasta Market and gained real-world insights at the Yosogo Stationery Factory, Coex Penang, and Penang Tzu Chi Recycling Centre. A highlight of the trip was their visit to Chung Ling High School where our students got to interact with their peers, learn about the school’s programmes, and even participate in a range of engaging CCA activities. Through these experiences, our students reflected on the delicate balance between preserving heritage and embracing progress, observed how diverse cultures come together to shape a community’s identity, and drew meaningful parallels between Penang and Singapore. This OELP trip was indeed an enriching one, having deepened our students’ understanding of history, culture, and identity.

Secondary 1 Educators and Connectors Week 🌟
Our Sec 1s had an amazing week learning beyond the classroom! Through immersive cultural activities, students deepened their appreciation for Singapore's rich heritage and discovered what the Singaporean identity means to them. The interdisciplinary learning journeys, such as those on sustainable farming 🌱and urban planning 🏙️, challenged them to draw connections across subjects, sharpening their thinking and broadening their perspectives. From hands-on experiences to meaningful conversations, the activities inspired curiosity, fostered cultural sensitivity, and equipped students with the tools to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

School holidays are not just about taking a break, they are also about giving back to the community. We are proud of our students who volunteered at the Boon Lay ComLink family gathering at Labrador Park.

Such experiences reinforce the importance of active citizenship and community engagement beyond the classroom. We commend our students for their enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to serve.

Our RV, 70morrow production was featured in The Straits Times’ IN paper, highlighting the RV spirit. In the interviews, our performers and crew shared not only how the production captured this spirit, but also how the intense preparation behind the scenes truly brought it to life.
