To allow students to develop a better understanding of the local current issues, the teachers planned for a learning journey for the secondary 3 express students to experience and observe, for themselves, the potential consequences which the development of the cross-island line might bring about. Although students had to trek for almost 3 hours, they were able to witness the environment, which includes both floral and fauna, and were able to apply their thoughts in their continuous writing assignment. Through such activities, teachers hope to increase students' exposure to current issues while deepening students' critical thinking at the same time.
