Hey Hwa Chong!
Ever wondered what really goes on inside Singapore’s Parliament, beyond what you see in the news?
Well, look no further! HCLS (Hwa Chong Law Society) and HACAS (Humanities and Current Affairs Society) are thrilled to invite you for a behind the scenes Learning Journey to Singapore’s Parliament. In previous years, HC LawSoc organised paid Learning Journeys to the Supreme and State Courts. This year, we’re a 🆓-of-charge visit to Parliament to spotlight the Legislative branch of governance, an often overlooked but essential part of Singapore’s legal system 🧑‍⚖️ . Join us as we embark on a guided tour of the Parliament House and engage in an exclusive fireside chat 🗣️ with Mr Seah Kian Peng, our Speaker of Parliament!

This Learning Journey is organised in conjunction with Parliament House and facilitated by the Prime Minister’s Office (Communications Group). With the generous support of Parliament House and the Prime Minister’s Office, students will get an invaluable opportunity to learn how our domestic policies are debated, passed, and shaped in Singapore.

If you’re interested in law, politics, current affairs, or just curious about how political decisions that affect our daily lives are made, this is for you!

🗓 Date: 11 February, 1230pm - 1700pm
📍 Venue: Parliament House, 1 Parliament Pl, Singapore 178880
🌟 Special Guest: Mr Seah Kian Peng, Speaker of Parliament
Refreshments are provided!

If you’ve read to this point, what are you waiting for? Sign up through this form by 22 January, 2359 🤩:

Do kindly note that no Leave-of-Absences (LOAs) will be issued for this event. Please only sign up on the condition that you are not missing any lessons, CCA and other school commitments. Upon successful form submission, we will follow-up with more information and instructions via Google Chat, so do look out for them!
