This past summer, Amy Jiang (C’27, W’27) interned on the investments team at HOPU Investments, a private equity firm based in Asia, in its Hong Kong office.
As a Summer Analyst, Amy worked alongside associates and other interns on a range of projects that strengthened her technical and professional skills.
“I had the opportunity to apply what I had been learning in the classroom in real life, from financial modelling, to creating pitch decks and investor presentations, to even evaluating targets of well-known businesses not only across the Asia-Pacific, but around the world with HOPU’s global portfolio.”
Outside the office, Amy immersed herself in Hong Kong’s dynamic culture, exploring local cuisine, hiking Victoria Peak, and traveling to Macau, Taiwan, and Shenzhen.

Congratulations to Ayina Anyachebelu'22 for receiving a Thouron Award!🙌 She will pursue a master’s degree in geospatial sciences at University College London.
✨"I'm most looking forward to exploring ways to integrate spatial data science to sustainable urban development issues. I am also looking forward to studying in Europe again."✨
✨"I think the flexibility and interdisciplinary nature of the Huntsman curriculum helped me discover my interest in geospatial data science and urban issues. During my freshman summer, with Huntsman funding, I worked in Colombia and conducted urban research there, so when I returned to campus I took City Planning classes in Weitzman (Penn Design) to fulfil my Huntsman International Business requirements. Combining these classes with my concentration in business analytics in Wharton, I became interested in the Spatial Analytics department in Weitzman (Penn Design) which ultimately made me want to pursue a masters in geospatial data science."✨
