In conjunction with Kindness Month, our Rulangnites participated in a meaningful VIA experience with patients and healthcare staff at JurongHealth Campus and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
To spread cheer and gratitude, our Art Club members assisted patients in decorating personalised tokens of appreciation using art and craft materials provided by Jurong Health Campus. These tokens were later presented to nurses in recognition of their care, compassion, and dedication. In addition, our Chinese Orchestra, International Dance, Choir members, and a solo Chinese dancer staged a heartwarming mini-concert titled “Seeds of Kindness, Garden of Gratitude”, featuring a series of engaging performances that ended with a joyful sing-along that brought everyone together. Through art, music, dance, and simple acts of giving, kindness was shared in a meaningful and memorable way.
More than just a VIA project, this collaborative effort was a wonderful opportunity for our Rulangnites to learn about empathy and gratitude, while strengthening their commitment to care for the community.

Over the past two days, our Prefects conducted surveys during the Primary 4 to Primary 6 recesses to gather student voices on their lunchtime experiences.
Our Primary 3 Class EXCO members also participated in the survey with the support of their Form Teachers, contributing their perspectives as part of the effort to gather student feedback.
Through this process, our Prefects demonstrated critical and adaptive thinking, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. They had to explain the purpose of the survey clearly, guide their schoolmates through the questions, and work together to ensure that different student voices were heard.
More importantly, our Prefects lived out their role as a bridge between the student body and the school. As representatives of student voices, they helped surface the experiences, needs and suggestions of their peers so that we can continue to make school a better place for everyone.
We are proud of our Prefects for stepping forward to listen, serve and lead.

Not all heroes wear capes — some work quietly behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly every day.
This Non-Teaching Staff Appreciation Day, we celebrated our dedicated team of non-teaching staff who support us in countless ways. Whether they are maintaining our campus, managing school administration, ensuring our safety, or lending a helping hand to students and teachers, their contributions make a difference to everyone in our school community.
To show our gratitude, we presented our non-teaching staff with handmade cards and thoughtful tokens of appreciation specially prepared by Rulangnites. A special video was put together to showcase the hobbies and passions of our non-teaching staff, giving students a wonderful glimpse into who they are beyond their roles in school.
Our Inclusivity Ambassadors also played a meaningful role in the celebration. Some volunteered to interview our non-teaching staff and shared the insights they gained with their classmates, helping others better appreciate the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Others stepped forward to support specific non-teaching staff with translation during the assembly, ensuring that everyone could feel included and celebrated.
Thank you to our non-teaching staff for your unwavering care, dedication, and commitment. Our school is a brighter and better place because of you! 🌟

Last week, we opened our doors to staff and students from our sister school, Tin Shui Wai Methodist Primary School. Our visitors from Hong Kong jumped straight into the Rulang experience, starting with a blast of ice-breaker games that turned strangers into fast friends.
Be it collaborating on Science experiments, learning together during PE, or exploring the outdoors, our Rulangnites and their buddies proved that learning has no borders. It’s such cultural exchanges that help our Rulangnites grow into empathetic, world-ready citizens.
The spirit of collaboration extended to our educators as well. Our school leaders and staff also took the opportunity to connect and learn alongside one another, further strengthening the professional bonds between our two schools.
We’re so grateful for this enduring partnership and can’t wait for the next chapter of our journey together!

From their first brainstorming session in March to their final prototypes in April, our Rulangnites have successfully completed their robot design challenge. 🤖
Working on differentiated problem statements, students explored ideas at their own pace — growing not only in their design thinking, but also in confidence and adaptability along the way.
Armed with their 2D drawings, they brought their concepts to life in the Makerspace during recess. It was inspiring to witness their maker spirit in action, as many devoted days to refining their prototypes with focus and determination.
From simple 3D relief designs to intricate prototypes, their creations truly blossomed. Just as importantly, students supported one another by sharing materials and encouraging their peers, showing that innovation thrives in collaboration.
What a wonderful showcase of creativity, resilience and teamwork! Well done, Rulangnites!

✨ What a fantastic RulangReads Week! 📚
Our school came alive with storytelling by our School Leaders, Book Talks by our Reading Representatives, the ever-popular Scavenger Hunt and a sharing by local author, Adan Jimenez. The highlight was definitely Characters Alive!, where both pupils and teachers brought their favourite book characters to life.
What stood out most was the enthusiasm of our Rulangnites—their curiosity, creativity, and love for reading truly shone through. 💫
The week may be over, but the reading journey continues. Keep turning the pages and discovering new adventures! 📖

The Aesthetics Department organised a special Parent–Child Bonding Aesthetics Programme for our Primary 1 and Primary 2 Rulangnites and their parents over the weekend. This event offered parents a unique window into the school’s Aesthetics landscape, illustrating how our Art and Music curricula nurture students throughout their six-year journey in Rulang.
Together, our Rulangnites and their parents creatively created simple instruments, such as clappers and shaker bottles, which were later used in musicking sessions. The room was filled with positive energy as families explored sounds, rhythms, and creativity side by side.
It was heartening to witness moments of connection, as parents and children learnt, created and enjoyed the experience together. It was a truly meaningful session that celebrated both creativity and togetherness.

Our school held its annual Science Fiesta, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of curiosity and environmental stewardship. The canteen and General Office foyer became lively learning spaces where Rulangnites explored the wonders of science and sustainability.
A key highlight was the Science Buskers Festival, where Primary 3 to Primary 5 students took centre stage in a “show-and-tell” segment, presenting a wide range of scientific topics. We also showcased winning entries from the Sony Creative Science Award (SCSA), featuring innovative toys made from recycled materials.
Adding to the excitement was a recycling drive led by our Parent Support Group (PSG). Students took part in hands-on activities, such as creating pots for money plants from recycled plastic bottles and crafting bracelets from cloth strips, encouraging them to embrace upcycling in their daily lives.
Students also explored the importance of public transport in reducing carbon emissions through the LTA Roving Exhibition. Interactive game booths further reinforced learning, as pupils practised sorting recyclables and discovered how long different materials take to decompose. To top it off, students pledged their role as active stewards of the Earth at the photo booth, reinforcing their commitment to environmental responsibility.
Science Fiesta 2026 was more than a showcase—it was a platform for pupils to learn, share, and take action towards a more sustainable future.

This morning, our Rulangnites gathered to witness a significant milestone—the Prefects’ Investiture. Our prefects and prefect interns stood tall, ready to embrace their roles as guardians of our school culture.
More than just a ceremony, the investiture marked a commitment to live out our D.A.R.E. values: Self-discipline, Adaptability, Respect, and Empathy. It is our hope that our student leaders will be defined not by their titles, but by their actions, serving as role models who lead with integrity and genuine care.
We look forward to the positive impact our student leaders will make as we continue building a vibrant and inclusive Rulang community together.

Happy International Friendship Day!
Our school recently celebrated this meaningful occasion with a series of activities, reminding students that friendship is a bridge that connects us—whether between individuals or across nations.
During last Friday’s assembly, students watched engaging and relatable skits that explored the true essence of friendship. They discovered that true friendship is not about changing oneself to please others or imposing one’s preferences, but about mutual respect, learning from one another, and caring for each other.
The celebration continued during recess yesterday, where we shone the spotlight on our ASEAN neighbours. Through interactive activities, students explored the rich cultural backgrounds and unique features of member countries, deepening their understanding of the region and the significance of ASEAN as an organisation. They also learned how cooperation and mutual support enable nations to work together towards a harmonious and prosperous community.
We hope these experiences inspired our students to be better friends and informed global citizens, building a future defined by harmony.
