We have been representing the origins of Art du Déplacement (ADD) / Parkour and are directly connected to the Yamakasi founders of the discipline in France. We aim to make the Yamakasi founders’ experience accessible to everyone, while strongly advocating the ADD values:

Hi everyone, we would like to announce that we will be dissolving MOVE Academy Singapore (last day of business as MOVE is 31st May 2022), and all its existing services (classes, camps, private sessions) will continue under the following new independent companies:

This is Mylene! She’s a long-time student here at , and she’s 59 this year.

Friends of MOVE, this is a post to remember Cher Hao, a valued community member of MOVE Academy Singapore. We received news of his passing overseas less than a month ago. 😢

During the period of around 2015 to 2018, Cher Hao was an active MOVE community member who generously shared his experience with newcomers and fellow practitioners during group trainings (true to the spirit of ), and was eager to support MOVE’s projects whenever help was needed. Many of our earlier MOVE members will probably remember the fun times when he shared his love of board games and photography with us.

We’ll always be thankful for his contributions to the growth of MOVE’s community. As we remember him, let’s all continue that spirit of as we move forward. 💪

“I’m too old to move like this.”
“If I move like this I’ll break my bones.”
“My joints won’t be able to take it.”

Sounds familiar? Many people (even those who’re in their 30s) assume that they’re too out-of-shape, or sick, or tired, or just plain old to move and exercise, and therefore choose to remain inactive. Not only are they wrong, studies have shown that the lack of exercise is even more dangerous than we think. 🤔

In 2016, a study of one million people has found that physical inactivity costs the global economy $67.5 billion a year in healthcare and productivity losses. Sedentary lifestyles are linked to higher risks of heart disease, diabetes and cancer, and such inactivity is estimated to cause more than 5 million deaths a year - almost as many as smoking, which the World Health Organization (WHO) says kills 6 million a year. ☠️

In this post, we debunk three common myths about movement, and show you that no matter your age, it’s always better to move than to stay inactive. The key is to start small and slow, increase the level and amount gradually, listen to your body, and have fun in the process. 🤪
