“Money Cannot Buy the Safety of Our Country” – Insights from Our NS Engagement Session on 📅 14 May 2026
“Would you give up your SAF career for $2 million dollars?” - Kyla (S3-7)
“Money can buy a lot of things, but money cannot buy the safety of our country.” - ME1 Charmaine
“Was it hard to ask for help during NS?” - Ruth (S3-7)
“Sometimes, it is inevitable that we will make mistakes. Don’t be shy to ask for help when you face difficulties.” - 2SG (NS) Nathanael
These were some of the thoughtful and insightful exchanges shared during this morning’s NS Engagement Session with our Sec 3 students. Our students learnt more about the importance of National Service in nation building, gained a better understanding of NS life, and explored the various career and volunteering opportunities available in the SAF.
We were privileged to welcome back two KRSS alumni:
🪖 2SG (NS) Nathanael Leong (Class of 2016), who shared about his NS journey as a SAF Infantry Reconnaissance Leader from Basic Military Training to today.
⚓ ME1 Charmaine Ng (Class of 2017), who pursued a career as a regular Communications Specialist in the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).
Both alumni reminded our students of the importance of adopting a growth mindset, persevering through challenges, and embracing help-seeking as a strength.
Through their stories, our students witnessed resilience in action:
💭 “I am…” passionate about serving and contributing to Singapore.
💪 “I can…” overcome difficulties, learn from challenges and continue growing.
🤝 “I have…” buddies, mentors and teammates who support me through difficult times.
Thank you to our alumni for inspiring our students and showing them what it means to live out the values of commitment, resilience and service to the nation.

Something exciting is happening in June!! It’s Vivace! 2026 🎶🎤🎹🎸
Vivace! 2026: The Power Within tells the story of three students as they journey through challenges, setbacks, and moments of self-doubt in their secondary school life. As they learn to communicate with others, stay open to new ideas, and adapt to change, they gradually learn to overcome their fears, support one another, and grow in confidence and resilience. Through music, dance, drama, and CCA performances, the concert highlights the development of key E21CC competencies: Communication, Inventive Thinking, and Adaptive Thinking, while celebrating the idea that growth takes time, support, and courage to keep trying.
See you there! 😊

Experiencing ASEAN through the Senses - International Friendship Day booth activities! ✨
Our canteen came alive this afternoon as students explored the rich diversity of our ASEAN neighbours through three engaging sensory experiences. From identifying signature dishes by their aromatic ingredients to recognising traditional sounds and cultural imagery, the activities sparked genuine curiosity and cultural appreciation.
It was heartwarming to see our students volunteers from S3-6 actively engaging their peers through the “Smell the Aroma, Guess the Dish” challenge, helping them navigate the “Sounds of ASEAN” audio experience, and facilitating the cultural imagery matching activity. The students were truly enthusiastic about sharing and learning more about ASEAN food and music, from Thai Tom Yum’s lemongrass to Indonesia’s melodic Angklung.
