It is alright to have personal opinions.
But it is not alright to call people out to bash them individually.
We are humans; we need to learn to respect.
Yes, they may be “fitness influencer” that may have given wrong or misleading information,
But respect the fact that they tried, and the time they have put in to create such videos from branding, marketing, videography, post editing and many more skills involved, to get people to move.
If you could do better, have the capabilities to do so, do it.
Instead of calling them out and putting them down one by one.
There are many formalities and skills in communication.
Even if you wish to correct the person sincerely,
Maybe sliding into their DM or contacting them through social media personal communication channel would have been more respectful.
Even if you wish to correct the wrong or misleading information sincerely,
Maybe you could stand from a third person or a more neutral perspective –
Rather than “Person A workout and advice is BS”,
Try “Many of you guys might have heard an advice regarding (the subject)” and go on to explain things your way, professionally, neutrally and respectfully.
You may be good at what you are doing,
But never lose who you are as a person.
You may become the most knowledgeable person in your field,
But don’t lose the good ethics and character a human should have.
What goes around comes around.
Start by lifting people up, not putting them down.
Please be mindful.
P.S Don’t worry, it’s nothing related to me.

I don’t want to look back in 3 years, 5 years, 10 years time, thinking that I could have done something more to give myself the best possible life that only hardwork, focus and hunger can bring.

Truth to be told, I sleep with my eyes open. Yes, you heard it. You might think that it’s a good thing since I can fall asleep in class without the teacher knowing. But no, it basically means that I have poor quality sleep since my eyes are still absorbing light during sleep which hinders the production of melatonin (the hormone that regulates sleep) for better, deeper sleep. Sleep length is important but sleep quality is equally crucial in general well-being. You can sleep more than 8 hours a day but if you don’t feel rested when you wake up, you are still prone to the negative effects of sleep deprivation such as lack of energy, obesity, and high blood pressure.
Today, as we celebrate World Sleep Day, if you are someone like me who has been facing issues with sleep, here’s a piece of good news. You can sign up for the Live Healthy SG initiative which allows you to get access to Fitbit Premium that provides you with not just customized sleep programs and advice, but also fitness and nutrition programs. Not to mention, you can even receive a Fitbit Inspire HR for free* when you choose the starter bundle.
Personally, I enjoy waking up every day, checking my Fitbit app to see how well I’ve slept after implementing my two most reliable solutions to my sleep problem – Wearing an eye mask and tuning down before I sleep. With my Fitbit tracker, together with the clear categorization of my sleep stages and the timely insights that Fitbit provides, I could make adjustments to my sleep to enable me to have better quality sleep.
You can sign up for the Live Healthy SG program today at https://livehealthysg.com/.
