RU Ready 4R? 15/09/2019

The Databuilders spent another great evening with members from NTU Alumni Club and the public, at our R coding workshop on 5th September.

An enthusiastic group of attendees spent a great evening understanding the programming language, R from Mr. Jeffrey Ong, the co-founder of Databuilder Pte. Ltd. as well as a certified trainer and content designer specialised in data analytics.

Attendees were first introduced to the basics of R and took their maiden steps to R programming. They went on to learn the grammar of graphics and used ggplot2, a package in R, to create good looking charts with just a few lines of code. Finally, participants gained knowledge on how to wrangle data using tidytext, another package in R, to transform data from one format into another.

Great to see the joy on the learners’ faces after completing our Text Mining with R course. I learned a lot about designing and facilitating a customised course for this fun group of people.
