One of the unexpected joys of sketching while travelling is the people we meet along the way.
As we sat quietly observing and sketching in a Balinese village, curious little faces began to gather around us. What started as simple curiosity soon became smiles, conversations, laughter, and shared moments of connection.
Sketching has a wonderful way of slowing us down. Instead of simply passing through a place, it invites us to be present. It opens doors to interactions that might never happen if we were rushing from one attraction to another.
These children may not remember our sketches, but we will certainly remember their warmth, curiosity, and the joy they brought to our day.
Sometimes the most meaningful souvenirs from a journey are not what we bring home, but the human connections we make along the way.

Tonight, our *Travel Light, Sketch Deep™* participants gathered for a complimentary sketching workshop before the journey begins. Through our simple, beginner-friendly “No Mistake” sketching approach, everyone experienced how sketching can be relaxed, enjoyable, and accessible—regardless of prior experience.
More than learning techniques, this session helps participants gain confidence, connect with fellow travellers, and start seeing the world with greater curiosity and presence before we even set off.
Because meaningful art journeys don't begin at the airport. They begin with learning to slow down, observe deeply, and sketch with an open mind.

Travel Light, Sketch Deep™ Kluang Art Excursion(7–8 June 2026)
A wonderful weekend of slowing down, observing deeply, and discovering Kluang through sketching.
From rustic farms and peaceful countryside landscapes to charming old streets, artist studio, local cafés, local sketchers meetup meaningful conversations and tasting of local delights, participants experienced the joy of connecting with places and people through art.
No pressure. No perfection. Just curiosity, creativity, and shared moments captured one sketch at a time.
