Check this interview out! Will.i.am is talking about STEM and FIRST.

Will.i.am: ‘I Want To Write Code!’ Will.i.am is no ordinary rapper. He is a founding member of Black Eyed Peas, a TV star and a philanthropist – but what really excites him is technology, and how it can advance social change. Plus he's invented his own gadget.

I love driving the robots around at the Science Centre. It's like one of the coolest things that you can ever do!

Check this out! The teams were having so much fun hooking the rings on the rack during the driver controlled period of the final match for FTC SG 2012. For the whole 2 minutes! :-)

We would like to take this great opportunity to thank the participating teams with their mascots, coaches, mentors, sponsors, supporters, organizers and FTC staffs who contributed and brought the excitement into the event.

Not forgetting the volunteers also. I would like to extend a special thanks to the people at Barclays Capital Services Limited and Temasek Secondary School who devoted time out of their work and school to help us out at the FTC SG 2012. Your passion and enthusiasm in robotics truly deserve a "thumbs up."

The FIRST Tech Challenge Singapore 2012 was a great success here at the Science Center Singapore! Teams were having a great time competing, forming alliances, making new friends and dancing, of course.

Besides that, we could observe some teams coming out with cool scissors lift design. FTC SG 2012 has definitely reached a new level in terms of mechanical & electrical designs and programming.

Great job, FTC Teams!! I hope we can continue to improve for the years to come ^_^

The FTC engineering notebook is a complete documentation of your team’s robot design. This documentation
should include sketches, discussions and team meetings, design evolution, processes, obstacles, and each team
member’s thoughts throughout the journey for the entire season.

Teams, don't forget to bring your engineering notebook on 29th Nov for the judging! The judges are excited to see the team's learning journey.

The Samantha module provides a highly reliable WiFi connection between the FTC bot and the Field Control System. However, the integrity of this communication link is dependent on the USB connection between the Samantha module and the NXT brick.

During FTC matches robots are subjected to rapid accelerations and decelerations, jarring impacts, rapid turns, etc. These actions could lead to a strain on the USB connection which in turn could cause the cable to become loose.

So, what is the best practices for mounting Samantha module? Check this out:http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default/files/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FTC/FTC_Documents/Samantha_Mounting_Best_Practices.pdf
