It has been about 10yrs since we realised that the amount of time spent outdoor is a strong factor for myopia onset. More studies found that it is related to the duration and brightness of light that helps to prevent myopia.

The brightness of sunlight cannot be replicated indoors. Hence, it is important that parents bring their kids outdoors as often as possible. Once they start school, physical education should be held outdoors as much as possible instead of the indoor sports hall.

If your child is myopic, they should see a certified optometrist and explore myopia control options to prevent progression to high myopia in adulthood. High myopia increases risks of myopia related eye problems as we age.
