Today, we had the pleasure of hosting a special masterclass led by Timothy Wayne-Wright, a world-renowned countertenor and former member of The King’s Singers, exclusively for the children participating in the 8th Singapore International Music Festival-1st Starway Chamber Choir Games!

Tim brought his wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the session, guiding the children through ensemble techniques, vocal performance, and the joy of singing together. About Ken Steven: Ken is renowned for his adept fusion of traditional and contemporary Indonesian methodologies, which has significantly advanced the choral music landscape in Indonesia and beyond. He serves as the Director of Studies at Charles Wesley Music Vocational School in North Sumatra and is the conductor of the Medan Community Choir.

With his dedication to promoting and evolving choral music, Ken shares his expertise both in Indonesia and on the international stage, inspiring musicians with his innovative approach.

We’re delighted to introduce Timothy Wayne-Wright, a distinguished countertenor and former member of The King’s Singers, as one of the judges for the 1st Starway Chamber Choir Games at the 8th Singapore International Music Festival 2025!

About Timothy Wayne-Wright: Timothy spent 10 years as a countertenor with The King’s Singers, touring the world and performing in over 1,500 concerts at some of the most prestigious venues across the globe. During his tenure, The King’s Singers were honored with two Grammy Awards, an additional Grammy nomination, and induction into the inaugural Gramophone Hall of Fame.

In addition to his performance career, Timothy is a passionate educator. He has taught in over 500 masterclasses, workshops, and summer schools, sharing his expertise in ensemble skills and vocal techniques with vocal groups worldwide.

We are thrilled to have Timothy Wayne-Wright join us as a judge, bringing his remarkable experience and dedication to vocal excellence to our event! 🌍🎤✨

We are excited to announce Ben Bram, a 2-time Grammy and Emmy Award-winning vocal arranger, producer, engineer, and educator from Los Angeles, as one of the judges for the 1st Starway Chamber Choir Games at the 8th Singapore International Music Festival 2025!

About Ben Bram: Ben is a co-creator of the popular pop a ca****la group Pentatonix, the R&B girl group Citizen Queen, the children's music brand Acapop! KIDS, and the summer vocal program A Ca****la Academy. His remarkable talent and passion for vocal music have helped shape these iconic groups and inspired countless young artists.

Beyond these primary projects, Ben has extensive experience in film and TV, contributing to popular productions like NBC’s The Sing-Off, Glee, Pitch Perfect 1 & 2, and working on commercials for Super Bowl LVII, Honda, Covergirl, Lifetime, and more.

🌟 Introducing the Chairman of Judges: Yan Baolin, China 🌟

We are proud to introduce Yan Baolin, the Chairman of Judges for the 1st Starway Chamber Choir Games at the 8th Singapore International Music Festival 2025!

🎶 About Yan Baolin: Yan Baolin is a national 1st-grade conductor, doctoral advisor, and professor of conducting at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the China Music Association Chorus Union and Director of the Conducting Performance Committee.

As a celebrated conductor, Yan Baolin has been a guest conductor and Artistic Director for prominent ensembles, including the Shanghai Opera House, Chinese Armed Police Men's Voice, and the "Eight Seconds" choir. His choirs have earned over 40 top awards in choral competitions both domestically and internationally.

Known as the "Conductor of the New Trend of Chinese Chorus", Yan Baolin is recognized for his exceptional approach that combines teaching, research, performance, and training. He has also served as a judge for numerous prestigious choral and conducting competitions worldwide and as a reviewer for professional titles and research projects funded by the National Art Fund.
