This week on Spotlight: A message to parents: Why choose UWCSEA?

On his recent visit to Singapore, we put this question to Faith Abiodun, Executive Director of United World Colleges (UWC) International. He said that an education at UWCSEA is about so much more than traditional metrics of success:

โ€œโ€ฆit's not sufficient to have academic excellence or to have financial capital, it's important to have a heart for the world, to have a heart for people, to have a heart for service, to want to be part of something that makes a difference that outlives a person's own time.โ€

Watch the full clip and look out for more insights from our interview with Faith on the significance of being part of the global UWC movement to shape compassionate changemakers ready to leave a positive mark on the world via the UWCSEA Spotlight Gallery (https://www.uwcsea.edu.sg/spotlight/gallery) and YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/6YvF5M7zbjw

This week on Spotlight: We take a look at how Grade 10 students are stepping into the professional world. For UWCSEA East students, the World of Learning (WOL) week is a major highlight of the year, offering hands-on career exploration in Singapore and beyond. This past June, 259 UWCSEA East students traded their classrooms for hands-on career placements with 217 global host organisations. As students like Neil and Yishan explain, learning the fundamentals of job hunting and shadowing experienced professionals provides invaluable real-world skills and vital clarity as they prepare to choose their IB subjects.

What starts as a week in an unfamiliar environment grows into a transformational experience, benefiting both our students and the incredible host organisations who mentor them.
