31 July is International Lifeguard Appreciation Day.
We are delighted and grateful to have our sponsor , generously present the Blue Hat to all ActiveSG Lifeguards and Pool Guardians in conjunction with the Go Blue movement for Drowning Prevention on 25 July.
Today's weather is extremely unpredictable, days can be extremely hot, we care for our daily hero and hope this hat shades you from the heat you face daily. Thank you for your service.❤️💙
Besides saying a big thank you to them, we want to take this opportunity to educate everyone that "Water Safety is a Shared Responsibility"
Lifeguards and pool guardians at our ActiveSG Swimming Complexes are not your babysitters.
You do not leave your children under the age of 12 at the complexes and go off. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure, a responsible adult is with them whenever they visit any ActiveSG Swimming Complexes.
If your child is age 6 and below, please ensure you are within arm's with them in the water.
Everyone should have a proper way of discharging their duty of care for the children whenever they are engaging in any aquatic activities.
Parents and swim coaches should ensure proper taking and handling of the child before and after swim classes.
Under the recommendation of Singapore Standard SS681 - Code of Practice for Sport Safety, parents are encouraged to have a line of sight with their child during their swim lesson and act as an additional layer of protection. All NROC swim coaches are to abide by the code of conduct when conducting lessons in addition to the new regulation of safe sport.
Water Safety is a Shared Responsibility.
I pledge to do my part.
Personal Responsibility Towards Water Safety and Drowning Prevention.
Prevention Made Possible.
Anyone can drown, no one should.
Sesiapa sahaja boleh lemas, tiada siapa yang harus.
珍爱生命, 预防溺水。
யார் வேண்டுமானாலும் மூழ்கலாம், யாரும் மூழ்கக்கூடாது.
