Hey, this is Johan Tang here, and for a really long time, I've been trying to play the barista's game as a complete coffee beginner. Now, in fact, I will say that even after conducting countless coffee classes and teaching dozens of students how to make great tasting coffee, be it through, pour over cone brewing or using an espresso machine or pouring latte art.
Till today, the mere thought of learning a totally new coffee brewing method still terrifies me. In fact, it's still something that I'm constantly working on till this very day. However, a long time ago, I realised that if I wanted to brew great tasting coffee and get my friends and loved ones just as excited as I was about coffee, I had to not just have the right equipment at hand to use, but also use each piece of equipment in just the right way to get my coffee tasting exactly how I wanted it to taste. And this is where I want to be able to help you get clear on using proper technique by using what I call the Perfect Cup challenge. And basically what this challenge is about, is to perfect your technique by having an experienced barista expert there with you, coaching you as you brew your very first perfect cup of coffee, you see, using whatever brewing method of your choice, once you're able to get hold of the right equipment and have a trained barista expert to be there with you and guide you as you're brewing your first perfect cup, you'll then be able to master any brewing method and cement the proper technique to replicate your first perfect cup of coffee again and again and again.
