Every single child in that circle is locked on. And that focus is doing more than it looks 💙

🐟 Following the fish with their eyes is visual tracking - the exact eye control they'll need to follow a line of text across a page one day.

😮 Waiting for the gulp is anticipation. They know it's coming, they just don't know when. That waiting is where early language begins, because prediction comes before words.

🐙 Small fish, bigger creature, biggest of all teaches size, comparison and sequencing, all wrapped in a story they want to hear again.

🗣️ And every verse brings a brand new word to try out loud.

Then comes the best bit. The whole room gasps at the same time, and somebody giggles 🥹

They think it's a story. It's listening, vocabulary, focus and patience - all in one song.

The whole room in one line, moving as one. And yes, it's as fun as it looks 💃

But watch a little closer at what a conga actually asks of a toddler:

🦵 Three steps then a kick is a repeatable pattern they have to hold in their head. That's motor planning and sequencing, the same skill behind following any multi-step instruction later on.

⚖️ That kick means standing on one leg, even for a second. Balance, weight shifting and core control, all in one beat.

👀 They're watching the person in front and copying. Imitation is how toddlers learn fastest.

🎵 They're moving to the music, which trains rhythm and timing. And they're staying in line without bumping into anyone, which is spatial awareness.

✋ Then the best part. The music stops, and so do they. That's self-control learned through play instead of instruction.

They think it's a dance. It's coordination, listening and confidence 💙

Little fingers making big circles around their eyes. A pointed nose. Two ears. Claws for toes.

It looks like a sweet little rhyme. Here's what's actually happening 👇

👀 Making circles with both hands at once is finger isolation and bilateral coordination - both sides of the body working together on purpose.

👃 Touching nose, then ears, then toes builds body awareness and gives them their first real body vocabulary. Reaching all the way down also means crossing the midline, the same brain connection that later supports reading and writing.

👁️ And when the owl looks at them, they look right back. That's joint attention, and it's one of the earliest signs of social communication.

🦉 Then the best part. Everyone goes quiet, and they wait for it... "Whoo, whoo!"

That waiting is anticipation, and anticipation is exactly where early language begins.

Same rhyme, every week. That repetition is how memory and sequencing grow 💙

Two years. That's how long Atasha has been part of the My Gym family.

Two years of early mornings, of remembering every child's name, of knowing exactly which little one needs a hand and which one wants to try it alone first.

Two years of welcoming families at the door, of celebrating first climbs and first words like they were her own milestones, and of turning a room full of nervous first-timers into a room full of friends.

Today was her last day with us.

Atasha, thank you for the care you gave every child who walked through our doors, and for the warmth you gave the rest of us. This place won't quite sound the same without you 🥹

Wishing you everything good in what comes next. Once My Gym, always My Gym 💙

Certificates in hand. Grins that won't quit. And a few parents pretending they aren't tearing up 🥹

It feels like last week they were being carried in, holding on tight, unsure about the noise and the new faces.

Today they walked in like they owned the place.

Somewhere between those two days they learned to climb higher than they thought they could, to wait for their turn, to try again after falling, and to say a friend's name out loud for the first time.

Those are the real certificates.

To every family who showed up week after week, packed the bag, clapped from the sidelines and celebrated every small win, thank you for trusting us with this part of their story 💙

Congratulations, graduates. We can't wait to see what you climb next 🎓

Every mess on that table has a reason behind it 💙

🚗 Car track painting - pushing a toy car through paint turns a wrist flick into a visible line. Push harder, longer track. Push softer, shorter one. That instant feedback is cause and effect they can actually see, and it's the same wrist movement that later steers a pencil.

🚦 Traffic light printing - one fingertip, one colour, one circle at a time. Precision work for those small muscles, colour naming practice, and quietly, their very first lesson in what those lights mean when you're crossing the road together.

🖌️ Brush work - holding a brush uses a completely different grip from a spoon or a finger. Every new tool adds another way for those hands to work, and builds toward the tripod grasp that handwriting needs.

And at the end of it all, that grin when they hold it up for you to see 🥹

Small wins. Big smiles.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘂𝘀: "𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴?" 🤔

Fair question. Here's what's really happening in a 45-minute My Gym class:

🧗 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 - grip strength, motor planning, and the confidence to attempt something that looks too big

🐛 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 - shoulder stability, core strength and cross-body coordination, the same foundations behind handwriting later on

🌀 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 - the vestibular system that controls balance, posture and body awareness

🎶 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 - listening, sequencing and memory, which is where early language begins

The reason it works is precisely because it doesn't feel like learning. Children repeat what they enjoy, and repetition is what builds skill.

Small wins. Big smiles 💙
