๐จ๐จHalfway Alert! ๐จ๐จ
For our not-so-little ones in secondary school, their Weighted Assessment 1 (WA1) is fast approaching. Here's 3 reasons to share with them why they need to care:
1. WA1 is typically 10 - 15% of their overall grade for the year.
Especially for non-graduating cohorts, WA1 affects their overall score in the report books at yearโs end. No sense in wasting it!
2. The WA1 sets the tone for the rest of the year.
Although the WA1 is typically just small section of the full exam paper, itโs still a good chance for students to benchmark their learning. A good score helps motivate students to continue investing effort!
3. Topics tested will not be touched again until the EOY examinations!
WA1 topics are typically the first few to be covered each year. Once teachers are done reviewing the WA, they wonโt touch the topic again until EOY revision. By then, it may be hard to catch up if your foundation is weak! It's important to set a good foundation now, to avoid struggle later.
Our students started preparations for WA1 weeks ago, and now they know what to expect. Time to grind!
