The 6th volume of the Yale-NUS Undergraduate Journal (YNUJ) has been published!
Founded as an interdisciplinary publication to showcase undergraduate research, the latest volume includes seven articles written by Yale-NUS students on diverse topics, ranging from mindfulness, bee habitats, dating apps to martial arts and national identity of Singaporeans, and more.
The editors-in-chief Sophia Xuefei Qiu and Melodi Inceboz (both Class of 2025), together with their team, worked on the volume for the past year.
Sophia shared, "It is a year-long journey, so I appreciate everyone who made it through with us! I hope that it was an enriching experience for all of us, and that we upheld our vision of making research and publishing more accessible to undergraduates!"
Melodi added, โWe are very lucky and grateful to have worked with this team of talented authors, editors, and multimedia designers in publishing Volume 6 of YNUJ. We could not have done it without them.
I am thankful that our previous Editors-in-Chief Liu Zixiong and Le Nguyen Phong (both Class of 2024), entrusted this year's YNUJ to us. We enjoyed this rewarding process very much, and I hope you enjoy reading our journal.โ

The Diacritic is an experimental digital publication breaking down the walls of traditional scholarship by reimagining the forms research can take. Weโd love to have you writing for us.
The YNUJ is an Undergraduate research journal that aims to publish original research by students. Weโre looking for student editors (no previous experience required) to help us prepare our 5th volume for publications.

YNUJ Vol. 5 Call For Submissions โ 12 DAYS UNTIL THE DEADLINE!
Call for papers by undergraduate students from any discipline!
Last date of Submission: 2 August 2021 (Monday)
About the Journal:
Undergraduate research is often overlooked due to the general perception that undergraduate students lack the in-depth specialisation and knowledge to publish meaningful work. Yet, research at the undergraduate level can be vital for sharpening the abilities of students and providing experience for those considering a route in academia. By publishing the journal, YNSAR hopes to cultivate opportunities for students to improve and to recognise outstanding undergraduate student work.
The YNUJ was established to offer students a forum that encourages them to write papers and think about issues beyond the confines of the classroom, and thereby to develop their own expertise. Keeping with ethos of a multidisciplinary liberal arts education, the range of subjects covered in the journal span multiple disciplines.
