The 2016 Sound of Dragon Music Festival is accepting submissions of works for the combination of Chinese and western instruments. Composers of any age and nationality can submit. There is no submission fee.

Submission deadline: Pacific Time 11:59pm on Jan 5, 2016

- Each composer may submit a maximum of two pieces.
- Each piece should not be over 8 minutes
- Available Chinese instruments – erhu/gaohu/zhonghu (1 player), erhu/vocal (1 player), dizi/xiao (1 player), zhongruan/daruan (1 player); western instruments – flute/alto flute/bass flute/piccolo (1 player), cello (1 player), classical guitar(1 player). Please refer to the percussion list to see available percussion instruments (1 player).
- Must include at least one Chinese and one western instrument.
- The works do not need to be newly written, but priority will be given to pieces not yet performed in Vancouver and on combinations of instruments not often seen.
- Please keep in mind that each piece may have limited rehearsal time.

Looking for musicians for a live performance during a networking session.

The client prefers soft classical pieces to be played as background music. The room is small and the number of pax are estimated to be 30+/-.

Details as follow:
Event date: 15 Oct 2015 (Thursday)
Event time: 4.30pm – 6pm (can break into two sets & short break in between the set)
Sound testing will be done at least 15mins before the performance. Report at 4pm (or otherwise discussed).
Requirement: Either a classical guitarist, violinist or harpist (1-2 players)

Youth Chinese Chamber Music Project 2015 04/09/2015

Registration for YCCMP 2015 is now open!

Calling all youths aged 17-25 who play Chinese instruments! Register and audition for a spot as a musician, soloist, or conductor in this exciting program. Auditions will be held on 3 October 2015, Saturday. Audition schedules will be released after registration closes.

Participants will attend a music camp and be given the opportunity to attend exclusive masterclasses by highly-skilled musicians. Under the baton of a renowned Maestro, participants will perform at the finale concert.
