Why are fine motor skills so important?

Fine motor skills help children perform important tasks such as feeding themselves, grasping objects, and writing. The ability to accomplish self-care and everyday tasks by using fine motor skills helps a child's self-esteem and confidence grow. This is the reason why every kit will have its share of activity to hone the little one’s fine motor skills.

This is definitely the highlight of our NDP stronger together kit! Every piece painstakingly sewn! Pardon the imperfection coz they were all handsewn! It makes an excellent pretend play set (which can easily cost you an arm and a leg). Complementing it is a menu with the names of every ingredient. Grab a pair of chopsticks at home and get the child to pick you the ingredients which you will shout out in Chinese. For the littles who cant quite master their chopstick skills yet, no problem! Words like these may scare many off. Some may even think that their child is too young for such bombastic terms. But trust me, the more you try to use them in your daily lives, the more familiar they’d be with these terms. It doesn’t matter what age. It will go a long way once they start having oral examinations in future!

Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! If you haven’t already know, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day! However it really shouldn’t be a one day event.

With this Earth Day learning kit, get your child to think about how he/she can help the Earth. A plastic bottle can take over 450 years to break down in a landfill. Before throwing something away, think about whether it can be recycled or repurposed
