We are so proud to introduce Little U's very first graduate β€” Deborah Chua. πŸŽ“

At 17, Deborah walked away with a portfolio spanning copperplate calligraphy, fashion design, textile design, advocacy and more β€” and she's heading to LASALLE College of the Arts to pursue a Diploma in Fine Arts.

At Little U, what matters is the quality of the portfolio that helps you discover who you are β€” not a grade. Learners design up to 16 credit-based projects, stacked into the Little U MTC Transcript β€” the equivalent of a high school diploma at Year 10 or Year 12. The transcript is accepted at universities like Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Caltech, RMIT, Goldsmiths, Ringling College of Art + Design, and more.

Deborah is proof that a different pathway in Singapore is possible. 🧑

What does it really take to succeed in life and learning?

In this clip, Monica shares her perspective on how we can set ourselves up for success.

She explains why traditional systems don’t always work for everyone β€” and why success starts with understanding your own strengths, experiences, and β€œwhy.”

Instead of trying to fit into one way of learning, she encourages us to focus on something deeper:
how we can use our natural talents to grow, make decisions, and navigate challenges.

When you learn to lean into your strengths, you build confidence, develop self-awareness, and find better ways to overcome your weaknesses β€” while also using your abilities to support others.

This is a powerful reminder that success isn’t about doing everything the β€œright” way, but about understanding what works best for you.

This is just one moment from Monica’s Guest Speaker Series session β€” the full conversation goes much deeper.

What a Little U class is like for me as a student ⭐

As someone taking Youth Track rather than regular secondary school, a lot of my people ask me what it’s like at Little U. So, this was made to answer some of their questions about it!

*If you are a teen (or a parent) curious about what this looks like, check out what a day in my Personal Projects class is like. *

Little U's Youth Track is a microschool programme for teens aged 13+ in Singapore. It empowers independent learners with hands-on projects and modules. No exams, no rigid schedules. With small classes not larger than 6 to 8, it uses a pathway recognised by universities like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. Visit littleu.org to find out more about Youth Track!
