A summary of new and updated housing policies announced during the National Day Rally 2026.

• Monthly household income ceiling for BTO raised from S$14,000 to S$16,000
• Monthly household income ceiling for EC raised from S$16,000 to S$18,000
• Monthly household income ceiling for singles 35 y/o and above purchasing subsidised flat or obtaining an HDB housing loan raised from S$7,000 to S$8,000
• First timers applying for BTO and Sale-of-Balance flats will receive one additional ballot chance for every Singaporean child (18 y/o and below)

This appears to be the first reported case regarding the failure of MCST to maintain common property in relation to termite prevention. The claimants were awarded S$10,978 (US$8,520), along with costs and disbursements of about S$42,750.

The judge took issue with the expert called by the condominium management of Freesia Woods, as he was the owner of the pest control company that had conducted inspections for the condo for years but overlooked the termite infestation.
