Dear Participants,

This coming Friday 5:00pm will be deadline for the submission of your works.
Do hurry if you have not submitted yet.

As announced previously, the presentation of your works will be on Monday 6 Aug 2012, 2pm at EA Foyer.
You can reach the venue at 1:30pm to do your preparation.
It will be a simple and casual presentation where you can consider putting up a poster (a A1 size display panel will be provided) with drawings or write-up, or displaying your prototype at your designated booth.
The sharing/presentation style is open to your creativity.
Judges will have a chat with you, as well as some queries to understand your works better. They might even provide suggestions on improving or commercializing your works!
Do send us your poster design ASAP, as UMI will need time to get it printed.

Welcome to the UMI Innovation Contest!

I hoped that your journey in innovation for urban mobility is fun and interesting.
The submission deadline (27 July 2012) is in one month time, and we have received enquires on the submission modes.
There are no hard and fast rule on your submission mode, as UMI wants you to have the mode which is of ease to you to deliver your ideas.
Do you have any enquires which UMI can answer to help you in your submission?

UMI Office (Block E1, level 8) is currently undergoing renovation.
And has relocated temporarily to Workshop 1 (EW1-04-02B), next to McDonalds.
We will appreciate if you can email [email protected] or call 6516 5393 to fix an appointment with us when you wish to submit your works.
If your works is plainly a written ideology, you may email your submission to us.

UMI is organising a trip to the KPE (Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway) Control Centre.

Date: Thursday, 3 May 2012
.. Time: 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Venue: Gather at EA Foyer for chartered bus service to KPE Control Centre.

Do take this opportunity to visit a restricted ground where few has gained entry!

KPE is the third newest of Singapore's network of expressways.

Connecting the East Coast Parkway and the Tampines Expressway in the north-east, the 6 lane expressway extends twelve kilometres, with approximately 8.5 kilometres (5.3 mi) of main cut and cover underground tunnels running some 10 kilometres underground when fully completed. Built at a cost of approximately S$1.8 billion (US$1 billion), it is the longest subterranean road tunnel in Southeast Asia. The KPE is also believed to be the world's sixth longest underground road project at its time under construction. In all, the dual-carriageway expressway with three lanes in each direction will have eight interchanges, eleven on-ramps, and twelve off-ramps.
