I hope you'll join me for my Thinkers50 Radar debut next week, where I'll be chatting with Stuart Crainer about all things global communication.
RSVP here -> https://www.linkedin.com/events/7163587980065030144/comments/
It's an unscripted conversation, but some of the themes I expect will come up, especially since I know Stuart has a special fondness for language, are:
📚 my thoughts on "good" and "bad" English
📣 accent bias and linguistic exclusion in the workplace
🔗 why language is the missing link in our DEI conversations
🎙 the Unmuted Framework for successful global communication
🌏 the intersection of language, culture and identity - and why it matters
👂 how to create an unmuted workplace where all voices are heard and belong
I am beyond proud to be a part of this organization. Thank you Thinkers50 for acknowledging and amplifying my work.

For anyone interested in learning more about my work on accent bias and linguistic inclusion, I'm going to be having a live conversation this Thursday over on LinkedIn. The timing is great for everyone from the East Coast of N.America to Asia:
7am EST, 12pm GMT, 1pm CET, 8pm SINGAPORE
The host is one of my favorite authors and thinkers, Morra Aarons-Mele (author of The Anxious Achiever and mental health advocate). We met at the Thinkers50 Gala in London when I was being a fan girl and went up to her telling her how much I loved her book.
She thought accent bias sounded interesting and asked if she could learn more over a LinkedIn Live conversation.
And here we are!
I'd love for you to join us, and let me know if you have any specific questions. RSVP over on LinkedIn. 👇
Uncovering Accent Bias in the Workplace | LinkedIn
If you've never been on the receiving end of accent bias it can be hard to understand what it really is or how large of an impact it can have on one's life. In a business world dominated and run by English speakers, accent bias and accent privilege is a largely unspoken issue that affects millions.....

Ending the year with another free that is open to the public! This one is all about how to , and in the virtual workplace.
After seeing one of my talks, the Director of Malaysian Danish Business Council, Trine Tveen Nielsen, said, "This course is not a NICE to have, but a NEED to have!" That's why she asked if I could share this with her group.
I hope to see you there! Dec 16th, 9.30-11am Singapore time.
by email to: [email protected]
before December 15th 4:00 pm.

I just heard that we've broken a record with over 1000 people registered for my webinar today with Executives' Global Network. If you've been looking for a professional network, you'll definitely want to come meet this group!
The high registration numbers say a lot about the importance of this topic. We're all wondering how we can bring our teams closer together across distance (physical, social, global, or just working from separate homes in the same neighborhood)!
I've found that the Harvard-developed SPLIT framework gives some great ideas for how to decrease social distance and increase psychological safety in remote teams.
A global pharma client, who I gave this talk for a few months ago, expanded the topic after my talk and had their whole regional supply chain (from Egypt to Australia) come up with ideas for how they could make improvements! It was fantastic to hear about their results!
I hope you'll join us today while I share stories from my clients in the region and how they've thrived during this difficult year.
There's still time to register. We're starting at 4pm (Singapore) today. (That's 9am in central Europe, 7pm in Sydney).

It is rare that my webinars are open to the public, and even rarer that they are free for non-members. There are TWO of these coming up in the next weeks for anyone who might be interested!
The first is my most popular webinar of the year called "Connected Leadership". The webinar is this Thursday, Dec 3rd, for the 14,000 global members of Executive Global Network and any interested guests (9:00am Central European Time/4:00pm here in Singapore).
In this talk, I share the Harvard Business School-developed SPLIT framework. We'll talk about how you can reduce the SPLIT in your organization so you can improve communication and collaboration among your dispersed or global team.
If you've been wondering what makes my webinars different, and are interested in a sneak peek of my most popular program, here's you chance!
Register as a guest here (otherwise, register through your Members' Universe platform):

I'll share the second opportunity with you on Friday. ;-)

It was wonderful to reconnect with the DABS - Danish Business Association Singapore community this morning when I shared (for the first time publicly) the work I'm doing with leadership teams to design and develop virtual communication templates, checklists and policies for their dispersed teams. I walked them through the 10 pieces of policy I recommend all companies include in their communication toolkits. It's time to write the New Netiquette!
Some of the feedback included this nice note posted by the Malaysian Danish Business Council who I look forward to working with in the future:
"It was a truly accomplished program full of surprising moments such as the speaker who suddenly showed up in the virtual presentation (very captivating), relevant polls and dialogue as well as exchanges of experience with all participants... This course is not a NICE to have, but a NEED to have!"
Thank you, DABS, for your continued support of my work, and for the very lovely gift I just received at my door!

As we slowly prepare to move into Phase 3 of reopening here in Singapore, I thought it was a fitting time to take stock of what we've done throughout this challenging period. I'd like to say a big "THANK YOU" to all of our clients for trusting us to help them through this period with consulting, training, and coaching solutions for their communication needs.

The new normal has us breaking down our longer-form training content and reformatting it into bite-sized chunks.
I welcome the change and am truly enjoying connecting with regional and global teams from Europe to New Zealand (and everywhere in between). These are the cover pages of our 2-4 page Reference Guides that are sent out after every program.
In the last 2 weeks we've designed and delivered 5 new 1.5-2hr training courses, plus run our most popular program, Connected Leadership, twice, and three other half-day training courses on spoken and written communication skills. Glad I'm on a microphone, or I might not have a voice!
Thank you to all our clients for the great engagement and interaction. It's been such a pleasure working with all of you!
Let me know if any of these topics look interesting for your team, or if you're looking for a series of shorter Communication and Interpersonal Skills courses. We'd be happy to work with you to design the right solution!

Fabulous webinar today for the Novartis supply chain in Asia Pac.
The best response at the end was when someone wrote in the chat, “OMG! Was that already 90 min???”
No, my friend, that was 2 hours!! 😂😂
He simply couldn’t believe that we had been on so long. Everyone chimed in that the time flew by. Such a great sign of engagement.
And it’s so much easier to keep the energy up when you’re genuinely having fun. My cat even made a well-timed appearance that perfectly proved a point I was making about vulnerability and connection. Such a fun session! 😂

Today I had the pleasure of joining the 1/2-year Management Meeting for Singapore and Malaysia of a global logistics firm. I spoke to their 20 regional leaders about "Connected Leadership".
We walked through the SPLIT framework developed by Harvard Business School professor Tsedal Neeley to see how their Structures, Processes, Language, Identity and Technology could be improved to create a more psychologically safe culture that enhances communication and collaboration.
How do you keep the lines of communication open and stay connected to your team during times of change and crisis?

Today was the first webinar of a 5-part series called “Global Communication in the Digital Age.” I had a great time with a small group of participants from one of our clients in the finance industry. They were in India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Here are some behind the scenes pics, as well as some poll results you might find interesting. Most groups I speak to have very similar answers. What do you think?
