Decimals throwing off numbers with different numbers of decimal places?

Percentage suddenly asking you to find "the whole" instead of "the part"? 😅

You're not imagining it — these two topics quietly show up in almost every P4-P6 word problem, and one shaky step early on snowballs into lost marks by P6.

Does your child know the difference between "side" and "diagonal"? 📐

I see this mix-up ALL the time when marking papers — kids confidently calculate Side × Side using the diagonal length, and get it wrong even though they "know" the formula.

So I made this quick reference showing all 3 ways to find the area of a square:
✅ When you know the Side
✅ When you know the Diagonal
✅ When you know the Radius (square inside a circle!)

That trips up P5/P6 kids when doing exam questions, so I added a worked example for it too.
