A lot of us are generally unable to talk about our feelings because they can be so overwhelming, riddled with a lot of stigma, and leaves us in a vulnerable spot. Most of us just brush aside our feelings as fleeting moments, but they can dwell in us much longer and eventually evolve to a disorder.
It’s time we stop dismissing our mental health as a passing phase, and to start taking it seriously, especially in this day and age of social media. We as a society place far too much emphasis on success and keeping up appearances, that makes the inability to perform extremely difficult and embarrassing. We need to start being more honest and open, we are all human, we all struggle, and it’s okay. Remember that it all starts with our willingness to change and to be heard.
