Our kids were noisy little chatterboxes, filling the house with constant 'noise'. Yet, interestingly, both of them managed to learn the same first word: "No!"
As we laughed and shared this memory during one of our family devotion nights, the sweetness of that moment revealed a deeper truth to me. It gently reminded me of the many ‘No's’ I have received from our Heavenly Father and how, just like a parent, His boundaries have always been wrapped in love.
I often catch myself feeling discontent. Even though my needs are fully met, my list of wants keeps growing. I feel dejected or empty when what I want isn’t what I have or get. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." — (Philippians 4:19) These remind us that a closed door from a loving Father is better than an open door that leads us astray.
He knows what we need before we even ask! 🙌✨
