There’s so much happening inside a mama’s body that no one ever teaches us, tiny miracles, quiet adjustments, and everyday strength woven into each feed.

Swipe through these “did you know?” moments and let them remind you of something important: you’re not just making milk… you’re making comfort, security, and home for your little one. 🤍

And on the days you feel unsure, overwhelmed, or a little stretched thin, remember this, your body is capable, your instincts are real, and your love is the strongest force in the room.

You’re doing beautifully, mama.

One feed, one breath, one moment at a time.

If your baby is fussy during feeds, you’re not alone, this is incredibly common and usually has a simple explanation. Understanding why it happens can make breastfeeding feel less stressful and much more manageable.

Here are some of the most common reasons babies fuss at the breast, plus clues to help you identify what’s going on. =)

What can you do?

Skin to skin to calm baby down

Change position (e.g. laid back or side lying)

Slow flow = do breast compressions to help with flow

Fast flow = lay back more to slow down flow

Muscle tensions? Do some stretching for baby but ideally seek help from a bodywork specialist

Uncomfortable tummy? Find out the root cause of it, like is bottle feeding too fast, for example? Or baby having shallow latching on the breasts? Usually these increases air intake.

Seek help from an IBCLC, if you are still struggling! =)

If you’re pumping and your breasts still feel full or heavy even after a session, the next thing to assess is fl**ge size. A good fl**ge fit allows:
-the ni**le to glide freely along the fl**ge tunnel
-gentle movement without pain
-effective stimulation to help milk flow

The ar**la shouldn’t be pulled deeply into the tunnel.

When fl**ge size is right, milk removal is usually more efficient, not because you’re producing more milk, but because the pump can do its job properly.

Sometimes a small sizing change makes a big difference 🩷

Tubing often gets overlooked, but it’s a crucial part of your breast pump system. When tubing is worn out, cloudy, or has trapped moisture, your pump can’t perform at its best.

Here’s why tubing matters:
✔ It keeps suction strong and consistent
✔ Clear tubing ensures you can spot moisture or milk
✔ Fresh tubing prevents mold growth and keeps milk safe

When to replace:
If tubing is cloudy or discolored.
If moisture gets trapped inside.
If it feels loose on the connectors.

Fresh, BPA-free tubing means stronger suction, better efficiency, and peace of mind while pumping.

Tender Tubing is 10cm LONGER than the original one.

📦 Available now! Easy to replace, easy to trust.

Breastfeeding isn’t only about feeding your baby, it’s about healing, balancing, and nurturing yourself, too. 🌿

Every letdown releases oxytocin, the love hormone that helps your uterus recover, calms your mind, and strengthens the bond between you and your little one.

And long after those newborn days, your body keeps reaping the benefits, from a lower risk of breast and ovarian cancer to better heart and metabolic health.

You’re not just sustaining life, you’re protecting your own. 💗

✨ Read that again, mama: breastfeeding gives back to you, too.

Have you noticed your ni**le turning pale, flattened, or pinched after your baby unlatches? This can be a sign that baby is chomping or latching shallowly, which may affect blood flow and cause pain or discomfort. A simple first step you can try is laid-back breastfeeding, letting gravity help your baby achieve a deeper, more comfortable latch.

And if this is something you’re struggling with day after day, please don’t feel you have to tolerate the pain. Getting support from an IBCLC can make a world of difference for both you and your baby 🩷

Breastmilk is truly incredible, it responds to your baby in real time.

When your little one is fighting off a virus or feeling unwell, your body receives signals through their saliva during feeding. This triggers your milk to increase antibodies and immune-boosting components tailored to what your baby needs at that very moment.

This is why breastfeeding provides such powerful protection, especially in those early months.

Your milk adapts, shifts, and strengthens, always working alongside your baby’s developing immune system.

A tiny body, a big boost of protection. =)

Noticed your other breast leaking while your baby is feeding? This is completely normal 🤍 It’s all thanks to oxytocin and prolactin, the hormones that help your body make and release milk. When baby latches, both sides can respond even if only one is being fed from.

Leaking does not mean oversupply, and not leaking does not mean low supply. Every body responds a little differently.

If leaking bothers you, gently applying pressure for a few seconds can help it settle, similar to how pressure slows bleeding.

Your body knows what it’s doing ✨

That early-morning quiet? It’s super sacred!!!

And that first sip, whether it’s tea or milo (my fav btw), or something warm that soothes your tired soul, becomes a soft reminder that caring for yourself is part of caring for your baby.

Let your day begin gently. Let your milk flow in its own beautiful rhythm. A little Tender Loving Milk magic… and a whole lot of love from you. 🩷

If you’re hearing clicking sounds while your baby feeds, whether at the breast or from a bottle, it’s worth taking a closer look.

Consistent clicking often means baby is losing suction, which can happen when the tongue isn’t able to maintain good elevation during feeding. This may cause baby to take in more air than usual.

In the short term, sitting baby upright after feeds can help with discomfort.

But rather than just managing the symptoms, it’s important to understand the root cause of the clicking and address it properly.

A feeding assessment can give you clarity and peace of mind 🤍
