Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was honored with the title Khaleel Allah: the one deeply beloved by Allah. In the Qur’an, Allah further describes him with two powerful qualities:
1) Qonitan Lillah: someone constantly devoted and obedient to Allah
2) Syakiran Li An'umih: someone sincerely grateful for every blessing.

These aren’t just lofty titles, they’re qualities built through everyday choices. Ibrahim (A.S) remained devoted even when it was difficult, and grateful even when life didn’t look easy.

It’s a reminder for us that devotion isn’t about perfection, but consistency. Gratitude isn’t just for the big moments, it’s in the small, quiet blessings we often overlook.

We may not face the same tests as him, but we’re given chances every day to choose obedience and to choose gratitude.

And maybe, that’s where it begins.

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of our teacher, Prof Tan Sri Syed Naquib Al-Attas this evening. May Allah ta'ala place him in the loftiest paradise and grant patience to the family and students.

"Assalamualaikum, Dukacita dimaklumkam bahawa Guru kita Prof. Diraja Terpuji Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas telah mangkat petang tadi 18 Ramadan 1447 pada pukul 6.47 , semoga Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala mengampuni segala dosanya dan menempatkannya di Syurga Firdaus bersama para Nabi dan Salihin. Allahyarham akan disolatkan esok pagi di masjid al-Taqwa dan dikebumikan di perkuburan Muslim Kiara."
