The Climate Change 2023 report by UN states that humans are responsible for all global heating over the past 200 years leading to a current temperature rise of 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, which has led to more frequent and hazardous weather events that have caused increasing destruction to people and the planet. The report reminds us that every increment of warming will come with more extreme weather events.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on February 2023's budget speech he highlighted how climate spending will “significantly” increase (in Singapore) and mentioned a $5 billion Coastal & Flood Protection Fund (for it).
Our government is “walking the talk” by taking the action needed to move towards Sustainability & the needed protection (e.g. from the rising sea level, potentially producing floods) for us, Singaporeans.

According to Straits Times 2021, “The Climate Index found that the top two reasons for not adopting green practices were cost and inconvenience…”
Are these reasons still valid in 2023? If yes are we letting these reasons destroy our earth?

PM Lee Hsien Loong delivered a video message at the United Nations Climate Ambition Summit to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Paris Agreement on 12 December 2020, mentioning Climate Change being a threat for all of us, & how Singapore, together with other countries will do our part to address climate change.

Natural Disasters Expo Asia was held in Singapore Expo, from the 7th & 8th of December, where there were an array of keynote speakers from Singapore & all around the world, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
We sure learned a lot & we are armed with more/various knowledge to take action towards reducing the impact of Climate Change & increasing Sustainability.
