Synopsis:
Discover the beauty of music with the Dunman High School Symphonic Band (DHSSB) as the band explores an evening of classic pieces that showcase their versatility and passion for music-making.

Starting their journey as a military brass band in 1967, DHSSB continues to promote a lifelong interest in and love for music in its band members by providing a nurturing and professional learning environment that enhances musical and artistic expression. Under the baton of Mr Tan Yao Cong and Mr Desmond Ng, the band has consistently performed well. The band clinched the Gold/ Distinction Award in the biennial Singapore Youth Festival (S*F) Arts Presentation for Concert Bands in the years 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. In 2013 and 2015, the band obtained the Distinction Award, the highest standard of excellence in the competition. In 2001, DHSSB was selected as one of the Top 5 Secondary School Bands of Singapore. In the year 2011, the Junior High and Senior High Symphonic Band participated in the 22nd Australian International Music Festival held in Sydney and was awarded the Gold Award.

Tune in to Aida’s Triumphal Grand March, James Barnes’ Third Symphony as well as Mancini!, a symphonic showstopper that celebrates the creativity of Henry Mancini.

Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight
Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.

Hope to see you there!
