Today, 12 August, is a day of special significance for me. It's a day that some may remember, while others may not. On this day, I always think of my mum, who endured so much pain to bring me into this world, and my dad, who was filled with worry. Thank you, Mum and Dad.
But beyond personal milestones, today holds great importance for Singapore as well. It marks the birthdays of our 1st and 2nd presidents, Mr. Yusof Ishak and Dr. Benjamin Sheares. It’s also the day when our former Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, assumed office.
While I may not have the chance to become the president or prime minister of Singapore, I aspire to contribute in my own way, giving back to society, to Singapore, and to the world.
