Moments like these are the heart of teaching. Waking up to this incredibly kind message from a student reminds me why I do what I do. Seeing students not only improve their grades but also grow in confidence is the greatest reward. Feeling very grateful this morning.

"Going from AL5 to AL2 felt like a big jump and I probably couldn’t have done it without your clear explanations and encouragement along the way. I am really grateful for your advice and support for me."

Thank you, Jeff, for your kind words and for being such a fantastic student to teach!

A little throwback to one of our favorite success stories! We received this incredible message from a parent last year and just had to share it again as final exams approach. 🚀

Jo's daughter was in P4 and, like many parents, she was initially skeptical about online classes.

After just 2 months of working with us, her daughter's Science score jumped from failing to an amazing 92% on her end-of-year exam! (She even sent us the proof! 👇)

The best part? That student has carried that momentum and is now excelling in Primary 5.

This is the power of building a strong foundation. By focusing on mastering answering techniques and science keywords early on, students gain the confidence and skills that lead to lasting success.

With the 2025 final exams for P4, P5, and PSLE just around the corner, we're ready to help create the next success story. If you're looking for a proven way to help your child see real, lasting improvement, send us a message.

Does your child know all the Science concepts but still loses marks in open-ended questions? It’s a common frustration, and the reason often isn't about memory, but about technique.

It’s painful to see your child write down a scientifically correct statement, only to not get full marks. Let's look at a classic example that trips up many students.

Imagine an experiment with two grasshoppers in jars:

Set-up A: Grasshopper in a sealed jar with food.
Set-up B: Grasshopper in a jar with holes in the lid and food.

The question asks: "What can you conclude from this experiment?"

Many children will write: "Living things need air, food, and water to survive."

While that fact is 100% correct, it would not score full marks here. Why? Because the experiment only tested for the necessity of air. Both setups had food, and neither had water.

The precise, full-mark conclusion should be: "Living things need air to survive."

This is the difference between simply knowing a fact and applying it with precision based on the evidence provided. It’s a core skill for PSLE Science, where examiners look for conclusions drawn only from the data given in the question.

Getting these process skills right is what turns "almost correct" answers into confident, full-mark answers. In our digital bundle of video explanations for the latest Top School Prelim Papers, Mr. Shane breaks down the answering techniques for over 400 questions just like this, showing exactly how to use the CER method and keywords to secure every single mark.

Your child studies hard for Science, but still loses marks in the Open-Ended questions. Sound familiar? 😩

Here's a secret: The problem often isn't their knowledge. It's their structure.

Examiners need to see specific keywords and a logical flow. If the structure is missing, marks are lost.

Introduce them to our "Keyword Sandwich" method. It’s a simple 3-step fix:

1️⃣ OBSERVE: State the fact.

"The metal spoon gets hotter than the wooden one."

2️⃣ CONCEPT: Add the science keyword.

"...because metal is a better conductor of heat than wood."

3️⃣ LINK: Connect them.

"...therefore, heat is transferred to the hand faster."

This framework is a game-changer for so many of our students. It turns memorised facts into full-mark answers. ✨

Want to see this method in action on REAL exam questions?

Our PSLE Science Past Exam Paper Video Guides are the perfect resource. Mr. Shane breaks down each question step-by-step, showing exactly how to apply this technique to secure every mark.

Stop the guesswork. Start building confidence.

🔬 PSLE Science Tip: Accuracy ≠ Reliability!

❗Many students make this mistake in exams:

They write:

“Repeat the experiment 3 times and find the average to increase accuracy.”

🚫 But that’s wrong.

✅ Correct Science Concept:

Repeating the experiment and finding the average improves RELIABILITY, not accuracy.

🎯 So what’s the difference?
🧪 To increase ACCURACY:
✔ Use instruments with smaller scale divisions (e.g. thermometer with 0.1°C intervals)
✔ Take readings correctly (e.g. eye level for liquids to avoid parallax error)
✔ Measure more precisely

🔁 To increase RELIABILITY:
✔ Repeat the experiment multiple times
✔ Find the average of results

Here’s a fun Science fact most kids get wrong in exams! 🤯

Imagine this:
You touch a metal spoon and a plastic spoon, both left in the same room.
One feels colder — but why?

Most students say:

❌ “Because the metal spoon is colder.”

But here’s the real Science answer (and the kind that scores full marks!):

✅ "Metal is a better conductor of heat than plastic. Metal spoon conducts heat from our hand to the spoon faster, so our hand loses heat faster and feels colder."

This is why your child might understand the concept but still lose marks — because they’re not using the right keywords or phrasing!

🎯 In our video lessons, we don’t just give answers — we teach:

✅ The correct answering technique

📘 How to use comparative words like faster, greater, more

🔍 How to explain Science concepts clearly, just like in top school papers
