Zero Hour SG

As a part of our community outreach efforts, our team decided to reach out to schools by organizing a webinar that focused on :

- why climate change is an URGENT issue
- how small steps individually add up to big changes
- how we believe in the power of youth to spearhead change
- what, how and why of Zero Hour SG

What's exciting?
We had the opportunity to hold this webinar and interact with the students of classes 11 and 12 of GIIS Smart Campus, Singapore today!

Through our Q and A session after the presentation, we engaged with students who had very good questions for us regarding climate change, our organization and how they can contribute to the cause.

What was truly encouraging for us was that our webinar had MADE AN IMPACT:
1. Right after we wrapped up, we received quite a few messages on instagram from students to sign up as team members and as volunteers!
2. Due to the lack of time to answer all questions during our webinar in the morning, we collated questions that students still had through our google form and addressed them during our instagram live session today from 4 to 4:20 pm. We were delighted to see the interest and enthusiasm of both GIIS students and our other followers who didn't attend the webinar.

All in all, we're motivated by the success of our first webinar in sparking the interest of youth to drive climate action in Singapore and look forward to hosting more webinars in other schools soon as well :)

How did it start?

In December 2020, I was looking out for opportunities to contribute to climate action efforts in any way I could. That's when I came across Zero Hour, a platform that empowered youth to drive climate action within their communities. The initiative was great, but I noticed that there was no chapter in Singapore.

Taking into account Singapore's sustainability efforts as well as the power of youth and community involvement to spearhead change, I applied to start the first Zero Hour chapter in Singapore.

However, I couldn't possibly do this on my own, so I formed a pioneering team with a group of friends and we, together with your help, aim to incrementally work towards mitigating one of the biggest issues threatening humanity : climate change.

So, are we a group that simply promotes "awareness talks" and "amplifying voices"? No. It's the zero hour, and it's time to *take action* NOW.
