Our Teaching Team! | எங்களுடைய ஆசிரியர்கள் 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in communications at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, 👩‍🎓Shankar strongly believes in teaching Tamil in ways that can be easily relatable to students. As someone who has been attuned to the nuances and intricacies of the language from a very young age, Shankar also prioritises the need for the younger generations to take pride in speaking the language. 💯🥳

Importantly, he strongly believes that building the oratorical skills of children 🎙️🗣️in the Tamil language will grow their confidence to own their mother tongue, culture and their own identity as a diasporic Tamilian. 💪🏽 Additionally, having worked in the media industry (both in English and in Tamil), Shankar is also fond of incorporating multimedia content and strategies 🎬📀🎭 in his teaching in order to better engage students.

Our Teaching Team! | எங்களுடைய ஆசிரியர்கள் 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Currently a Graduate Student at NUS specialising in Comparative Politics and researching on South Asian Politics, 👩‍🎓Ashwinii is also very involved in writing, teaching and researching in Tamil.

Having taught Tamil according to the MOE syllabus for students across a range of levels, from Nursery 1 all the way to JC2 (H2 Tamil Language and Literature), Ashwinii strongly believes that methods of learning and processing knowledge, especially for the younger generations, have changed drastically in the past two decades with rapid globalisation and technological growth. 👩‍💻🌎Therefore, she believes that the pedagogical tools to teach Tamil must evolve as well. As such, Ashwinii constantly experiments and incorporates multiple facets of my own experiences as a performer, a writer and a bilingual translator into her lessons. ✍️💃🔀

Presenting our very first initiative - the PSLE Tamil Bootcamp Series! 🥳🏆🤩This series will be conducted in 6 parts every Saturday from ⏱️6pm-8pm for our Primary 6 Tamil students 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓, and is meant to help BOTH students and their parents 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 understand what the goals and objectives of each of the different sections of the PSLE Tamil papers are! 🎯Students can either choose to attend just the sessions that they need help with or they can attend all 6, and each virtual 2-hour session is priced at $30. 👩‍💻🧑‍💻

About us | எங்களைப் பற்றி ✍️

Having been through the school system here ourselves as students and worked as part-time Tamil tutors, 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓 we have learnt to understand the varied learning needs and challenges of students. Even as we run group classes, we want to ensure that each child’s learning challenges are looked into. 👧👦 We also believe in imparting critical thinking skills in our students that they can make use of not just in Tamil, but across their other language subjects as well. 💭🙇‍♀️🙇 Our pedagogy design will also ensure that all aspects of Tamil - reading, writing and oracy - will be covered simultaneously to show how each of these elements are interconnected with each other. 📚✏️
