Our year-end chalet, which took place earlier this month, was a resounding success. We had organized numerous activities for the participants, including sailing and windsurfing, both of which were new and enriching experiences for all.

Our first-ever parent-child kayak fishing trip on a school-free morning proved remarkably successful.

The drift was quite strong, but the fish were plentiful!

Night Detectives at work!

It was a highly productive and engaging evening.

Numerous nocturnal creatures were observed becoming active after sunset, including huntsman spider, tree climbing crab, lesser paper wasp, clouded monitor lizard, land slug, apple snails, planthopper nymph, needle fish, mudskipper and many more.

The children demonstrated exceptional participation and their enthusiasm for discovery and learning was truly admirable.

The evening concluded with a profound sense of fulfillment, heightened awareness and expanded knowledge. It was indeed my honor to be able to lead these wonderful kids on this engaging and educational programme.

Today marks the last day of the year 2024 and we would like to end the year off by thanking all our supporters. We wouldn't have made it this far without you guys!

Natural Instinct Outdoor Academy was started in the year 2021 with a very simple goal in mind, which is to keep kids active by engaging them with interesting and meaningful outdoor activities.

Being trustworthy (信用) is also an important trait in our line of work with children, and we are thankful to all parents who trust in us! Trust is not entirely about keeping your kids safe at all times but allowing them to take calculated risk towards greater growth.

We also pride ourselves by not being a company that puts profits above morality (不能見利忘義). The fees which we charge for our programmes are basically to cover all the expenses incurred such as manpower, venue, f&b, equipment, third party vendor, insurance, transportation, logistical planning and arrangement. If you are not "wearing my hat", don't tell me that my programme is expensive. Nonetheless, the quality of our programmes will speak for itself.

This is the highlight of the highlights for our recent camp! We had many wonderful and memorable moments kayaking across the busy shipping lane where we had lunch onboard the unique Smith Marine Floating Restaurant!

This expedition is one of the not so easy to organize type because it involved kids and our youngest participant is only 8yrs old. But we still did it anyway and as always, we don't just "pull it off".. we completed our expedition with pride and a lot of fun! Just look at the photos. They will do the talking!

Bukit Batok Hillside Nature Park!

So near yet so hidden!

We explored a park originally constructed in the early 1990s, which was also known as Greenwood Park.

Although we were unable to witness its former glory as the park was shut down in 1995.

Journeying through what remains of the park was still a wonderful adventure!

Together with my band of troopers, we conquered some of the highlights of the park.

We found many "huts", benches, tables and stool left in ruin apparently taken over by the forest. We also found a well and the famous "torii gates" which is the iconic scene of the park. Just to be clear, those are not the real torii gates but the resemblance is close.

Trekking on the broadwalk feels like an episode of the movie, Indiana Jones! One wrong step will send the broadwalk and yourself crumpling down. Thankfully, our trail leader learned ninjutsu before and led all the troopers on a shinobi aruki through the broadwalk and eventually everyone emerged victoriously from the hike!

Sunrise Paddling!

Another highlight of our camp!

Orientation was at 6am where we set sail at about 630am to catch the sunrise!

However, it was pretty cloudy that day and the sun was hiding behind the clouds. 😆

Nonetheless, the experience was still wonderful! We explored the Api Api mangroves and played water polo using a random floating coconut! Everyone suddenly became very competitive and "good" at paddling. Lol!

Also, hitting the sea at such timing is not only refreshing but an essential balance to set the mood of the day!

I am really glad that the kids get to experience what I call tranquility and the calmness of the sea that revitalizes our soul.

Ending off our last training session WET!

We decided to do something different from our usual training routine and since this is the last session FOR THE YEAR, let's go wakeboarding!

Everyone had a splashing fun time! From falling forward to backward! Basically covering all directions. 😆

Wakeboarding is not easy as well. It requires a certain amount of fitness level as it requires the participants to maintain a half squat position, keeping their arms straight, knees slightly bent, core tighten and rotation of their hips. Luckily for us, it's not that hard cuz it's not foreign as some terms are commonly used during our training session.

Exciting news for year 2025!

Our Youth Athletes Development Programme will be increasing the frequency of training!

From once to thrice a week at a flat fee!

We have so many races to prepare for!

It is going to be an exciting 2025!

Exploring Kay Siang Bunkers during the school holidays with my little troopers!

The trail was easy and the bunkers were spectacular!

We had fun exploring all 3 bunkers and the weather was kind to us.

Will we recommend this trail to you guys? Absolutely yes!

It's definitely a trail that is suitable for beginners!
