Conducted the unannounced IT Disaster Recovery yesterday (9 Oct 2017). All started with the "discovery" of WannaCry ransomware (staged version) at 7:55 am escalating to more systems being "affected and rendered unavailable" (all staged to test our IITS folks). A mass email was sent on Service Interruption at 10:41 am to the SMU Community.
With further forensics and investigations, our folks were quick to suspect that the "service interruption" was a stage exercise to test their responsiveness. What a hoot! But boy, were they upset ;p
