Freddy Qin and Alvin Ng are two individuals from differing backgrounds who decided to break into the booming tech scene, but lacked the software and technical skills to make the leap. Learn how Qin, previously a mechanical engineer and Ng, who worked at a 3D printing startup, ended up at GoSchool and how they eventually took on full-time software engineering roles at SP Group and foodpanda respectively.

“Programming is not an individual sport”, says Alvin, our GoSchool graduate and now, full time Software Engineer at foodpanda. A physics graduate, turned business owner, Alvin shared with us how working alongside his team at GoSchool, and his career shift into tech led him to where he is now.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Journeying with and working on GoSchool projects alongside a phenomenal team of like-minded individuals was one of the highlights of the programme. It opened career opportunities that would be challenging to attain without working experience in tech – it gave me the chance to excel and eventually secure a full-time role with foodpanda.”
