Sand buckets, bright lights, and big ideas! 🪣💡

We love turning family holiday moments into mini-lessons. Tonight’s topic: The island that sand built! 🏝️

We are spending the evening in Hulhumalé, a spectacular reclaimed island that was engineered to counteract climate change and rising sea levels. Because it's designed with careful urban planning (originally shaped with the help of experts from Singapore! 🇲🇻 💙 🇸🇬), it has beautiful wide streets, parks, and distinct phases designed for sustainable living.

Seeing the kids explore the sand and watch the local traffic zoom by makes you realize how connected we all are by engineering and imagination.

What's the coolest fact you've learned on a family trip? 👇

Sometimes we think we’re there to hype the kids up… but somehow, they end up hyping US instead! 🥹✨

There’s nothing quite like seeing little scientists proudly show off their STEM creations, experiments, and discoveries — with that “LOOK WHAT I DID!” sparkle in their eyes. 🔬💡

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do at Kak Fifi & Mimi: to help kids feel curious, confident, and proud of the way their brilliant minds work. 🌈

Keep exploring, keep creating, keep asking questions — we’re cheering you on always! 🚀

Can we make a submarine… with everyday items? 🌊🚢

In our latest STEM Experiment, Kak Fifi and Mimi explore why some things sink, some things float, and how a submarine can move up and down in water! 💧🔍

It’s science you can see, try, and talk about with your little ones at home.

🐑🌙 This festive season, we’re looking at the majestic Kaaba through our STEM lenses to discover the amazing meaning and architecture behind its shape! 📐✨

Did you know that the word Kaaba actually means "cube" in Arabic? Built by Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ismail, its identical sides show equality by facing everyone in the world equally, no matter where they come from! 🌍❤️

The STEM Secret Behind the Cube 🏛️💪
- From an engineering perspective, cubes are structural superheroes! 🤖🧱
- 3D Geometry: Unlike a flat 2D square, a 3D cube is solid, stands up tall, and has 6 flat faces of the exact same size! 🟩
- Super Strong Engineering: With a flat bottom, cubes distribute weight evenly so they won't tip over easily, allowing ancient structures to stand strong for thousands of years! 🏗️🏛️

🧐📦 This aligns perfectly with the Singapore MOE Primary 1 Mathematics syllabus (3D Shapes) and the NEL Framework (Spatial Awareness).

Can your little scientists spot other cubes around the house? 🎲🧊 From tissue boxes to ice cubes, they are everywhere! 🧠✨

The Big Bad Wolf can huff and puff all he wants, but this house isn’t budging! 💨 Bricks are heavy, hard, and bonded together to resist strong forces! 🧱✨

Why It Helps Learners 🇸🇬
💡NEL (Preschool): Supports Discovery of the World by exploring different material properties.
💡Primary Science: Aligns with the P3/P4 Diversity of Materials and Energy topics, showing how structures withstand forces.

Perfect for Home & School 🏫🏡
Parents and educators can use this video as a fun extension to classroom lessons. Watch together, then challenge your kids to build their own sturdy structures!

Did you know flowers have a bedtime? ☀️🌙🌺

Some flowers open up bright and early to welcome friendly bees and butterflies, helping them grow seeds! But when night falls, it’s time to "close shop" so they can protect themselves and get some rest. 🐝🦋💤

Singapore Science Syllabus 🇸🇬
This fun fact perfectly aligns with the Primary 3–4 Singapore Science syllabus under the topic of Living Things!
It's a fantastic, real-world example of how living things respond to changes in their environment to survive and grow. 🌿🔬

Perfect for parents and teachers to share on your next nature walk! 🎒👣
