We've got motor stations all over the body, they're called muscles and among numerous functions, they help to modulate the tensile frequency of our watery fibrous connective tissue (fascia).
The glute max which receives a lot of attention, many times for the wrong reasons (types of cueing and 'firing' patterns) is a really interesting muscle.
Many believe there must be a certain firing pattern for this muscle in activities like walking. Although I personally don't subscribe to this model or 'assessment', it's ability to both tension the lower back and knee is really interesting.
The glute max's relationship to the lower back and knee is so unique it really does make sense to consider these relationships when training this muscle.
